We’ve been getting quite a bit of rain the last week or two. Winter is the rainy season around here. Yesterday the weather service put out flash flood warnings for surrounding counties. I don’t know of any flooding in our immediate area.
We went to a Chamber of Commerce event this evening which was held at the local Habitat for Humanity store. We ate some food and walked around and looked at all of their goodies. They have a really good collection of books and LPs. And they have doorknobs and appliances and all sorts of stuff.
Things are coming together for a trip in a couple of weeks up to Cedar Rapids. I will let you know how that goes. I have another possibility developing in Ames. I saw a news report that Cedar Rapids may be in for another year of flooding because of the above normal snowfall both in the immediate area and upstream from them.
