Over the weekend I worked on two radio projects.
The first was my VHF FM loop antenna. I have created a capacitor out of 1/8″ lexan plastic and the thing seems to be resonant at the right frequency, or close. I need to work on the feed system next. I’ll have more on that later.
I also did a lash-up of my new DDS VFO with an NE602 mixer chip and the Hi Per Mite audio amp and filter to make a little toy receiver. I played around with that quite a bit on Sunday, trying to figure out how to join it to the antenna. I was able to hear a few stations. That was a kick!
