We did end up buying another car. It is a 2016 Honda CR-V. The settlement on the old car paid about 3/5ths of the cost. We are back on car payments for awhile.
We also had in the running a 2023 Kia Sportage and a 2021 Nissan Rogue Sport. There were not a lot of cars to choose from!
The one we got seems to be pretty clean, has under 75k miles on it.
