Dubuque

[Wednesday: 30 minutes on treadmill; Today: 6 trail miles]

Here are some pictures from our neighborhood.

I see these exposed beams in a lot of storefront buildings in town. This building is the same height on the left and the right and on relatively flat ground. I guess the guys on the right wanted higher ceilings? But that isn’t reflected in higher windows upstairs.
This is a nice little house. It sits back a little bit from the road. The thing I find unusual is the upper windows. It almost looks like there is not enough space above the windows to have roof structure. That upper room is just bursting out. The symmetry of the windows is also interesting, but just a bit off. How come no window in the middle upstairs?
I liked that little window. It even has it’s own little wedge keystone treatment. I wonder what is in there that needed a little window.
