[Today’s run: 2+ miles]
I abbreviated my run today because of darkness and because I ran out of gas. Still feeling the effects of blood donation on Monday.
I recently won an internet auction in Oklahoma City. We are going to be doing some traveling for the holiday season and plan to stop in there and pick up my winnings.
According to the listing, it is an HP VNA, Vector Network Analyzer. It is an impressive piece of equipment, on par with the HP spectrum analyzer I picked up a couple of years ago.
Like the spectrum analyzer, it is something for which I have been watching for a long time, and it is something I will have to learn about in order to put to any kind of use.
Going by the picture they gave, this VNA should include what they call an s-parameter unit. Using this combination a person can measure the input and output impedances of an electronic circuit. It will also work to measure antenna resonances.
I am looking forward to having it at home and giving it a try.

So, is this gadget a way to tell the distance of your antenna’s reach for the radio station?
