Pumpkin party

[today’s run: 6+ miles]

Last weekend we drove north of town to the pumpkin patch place, Country Pumpkins.  They have a lot of kid’s activities there, some really interesting stuff.

And there were kids everywhere.

They had swings, a hay ride, a corn maze, an enclosed wagon full of cotton that the kids could jump in.

They had three or four activity things which used these large drain pipes.   This one had some straps between posts which kept the pipe sections going straight.  It was very ingenious

That’s a neat idea. I always loved the rolling thing at Doanes Park. I see your corn has a ways to go…unless that’s something else in the background. At least half of the corn here is harvested and we didn’t see any beans left in the fields when we traveled to the farm yesterday.

Most of our corn is already gone. I think they must have planted something tall and late in order to make maze out of it.

The cotton and peanuts are out. Most corn is long gone and I think most of the beans are gone.

We still have green leaves on some of the trees, but most of them are turning. We are so dry that they just sort of turn brown.
