Tomorrow I am skipping the running club and working from home. This is the culmination of our server upgrade project. I’m supposed to start at 5 AM local time and we hope to be done by 2 PM. Some recent speed-ups in our network configuration should help, maybe we will be done by noon.
The early start was my idea. I’d rather start early and be done with some daylight still left.

Good luck for a successful endeavor. Thought I’d say that I have been with the same company for 15 years. Over that time we went from the data being down the hall in a room with good AC to using virtual servers that are who knows where. I have no idea how it all works. With those changes we’ve lost having someone who’d come to you (and you’d know them by name) and load software etc to a tech number to call and someone (always a different person) driving your machine remotely. Also, all our Web pages are designed by day here – mock up – and engineered at night in India. I bet someday everything is handled in India.
