Today’s run: 2.5 miles<\/p>\n

As a general rule, we spoil our animals. \u00a0They get nicer toys, nicer food, and nicer beds than we do. \u00a0The dog has a pile of blankets on which to sleep but chooses to sleep on our bedroom floor with his head on one of my pillows. \u00a0Spoiled. \u00a0But that does not compare to the cats (notice plural cats as of this past Sunday).<\/p>\n

My husband decided that our cat (singular) needed a scratching post. \u00a0We went shopping but did not like the quality of the posts available at our local pet shop. \u00a0They looked and felt like a light breeze would make them crumble, so we decided to build our own.<\/p>\n

We had scrap lumber so we picked up a carpet remnant at Wal-Mart. It was a definite “do-it-yourself” project. \u00a0It was a lot of fun to do and the cat (still singular) was thrilled beyond belief. \u00a0As time progressed, we added little bits of this and that to our very sturdy scratching post. \u00a0The cats (now plural!) utilize it instead of the furniture so everyone is happy. \u00a0It is not the most beautiful piece of furniture one could have as a center piece in their living room but it suits our family needs perfectly.<\/p>\n
