{"id":753,"date":"2012-10-31T18:43:17","date_gmt":"2012-10-31T18:43:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=753"},"modified":"2012-10-31T18:43:17","modified_gmt":"2012-10-31T18:43:17","slug":"happy-halloween","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=753","title":{"rendered":"Happy Halloween!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a02.07 miles<\/p>\n<p>Today was our last run before the big race on Saturday and we made it a very small run. \u00a02.07 miles. \u00a0We probably should have made it a bit bigger due to the fact that we will probably have Halloween candy left over.<\/p>\n<p>We bought ONE BAG of Halloween candy this year. \u00a0Just ONE. \u00a0A bag of fun size Snickers. \u00a0I put it in the freezer in the hopes that &#8220;out of sight, out of mind&#8221;. Nope. \u00a0Did not work. \u00a0I will say, though, that my husband broke open the bag before I got into it. \u00a0I have only had two candy bars. \u00a0For me, that is showing incredible restraint! \u00a0I do not know how many he has had. \u00a0Neither one of us is too terribly concerned about running out of candy tonight due to the fact that in the three years we have lived here, we have never had someone come to the house for candy.<\/p>\n<p>Going to churches for &#8220;Trunk or Treat&#8221; is a big deal here in Mississippi. \u00a0The local churches have members get a bunch of candy and put it in their car trunks. The little darlings dress up and come to church and trick or treat from church members car trunks-from people they presumably know. \u00a0Safety first!<\/p>\n<p>When we lived in Colorado, \u00a0Main Street, the local businesses and the Chamber of\u00a0Commerce got together, purchased a bunch of candy, and the kids then trick or treated from business to business. \u00a0The police closed town Main Street for a few hours for the event. \u00a0It worked well! \u00a0Our church had a cocoa stand so people could warm up with free cocoa\/coffee. \u00a0It was a big deal there in town.<\/p>\n<p>So, whether you go trick or treating in your neighborhood, church, or town Main Street&#8230;have a safe and happy time! \u00a0Happy Halloween!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run: \u00a02.07 miles Today was our last run before the big race on Saturday and we made it a very small run. \u00a02.07 miles. \u00a0We probably should have made it a bit bigger due to the fact that we will probably have Halloween candy left over.
