{"id":690,"date":"2012-10-13T19:21:47","date_gmt":"2012-10-13T19:21:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=690"},"modified":"2012-10-13T19:21:47","modified_gmt":"2012-10-13T19:21:47","slug":"long-run","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=690","title":{"rendered":"Long Run"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run 13.38 miles<\/p>\n<p>My husband and I have been training for a Half Marathon. \u00a0The race is in three weeks. \u00a0Over the past two and a half months we have been gradually increasing the distance we are able to run to reach the half marathon distance (13.1 miles).<\/p>\n<p>Today was a training run with the running group. \u00a0We meet every Saturday morning for our long run of the week. \u00a0The host\/hostess determine the route we are going to take and post it online every Monday morning so people can plan accordingly. \u00a0Well, today&#8217;s posted route was 23.5 miles. Needless to say, we did not plan on running the entire distance but we did decide to go the half marathon distance of 13.1 miles.<\/p>\n<p>Now, bear in mind that our (my husband and my) race is in three weeks so we really do need to have the distance under our belts. \u00a0We planned accordingly. \u00a0When we arrived this morning, the hostess said, &#8220;Oh, just go to the second water stop. \u00a0That will only put you a little over the distance you want.&#8221; \u00a0We said, &#8220;Sure, why not&#8221;, and set out.<\/p>\n<p>Our total distance today ended up being 13.38 miles. \u00a0She was right. \u00a0It was only a little over our intended distance but boy~that .38 miles seemed like another 10 miles! \u00a0It was a very difficult run!!! \u00a0BUT~we did it!!!!!!! \u00a0We are ready for the race~we have the distance down~we have done hills~we have run in the heat~I really think that we are ready!!! \u00a0Now, as long as we remain injury free and do not get run over by a bus or anything, come November 3, we will toe the line at 7:00 and set off. \u00a0I can hardly wait!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today&#8217;s Run 13.38 miles My husband and I have been training for a Half Marathon. \u00a0The race is in three weeks. \u00a0Over the past two and a half months we have been gradually increasing the distance we are able to run to reach the half marathon distance (13.1 miles).
