href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6418\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6418\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6418\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/4a04de92117419795c57964fa1adcd79.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s true.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve been eating PB.\u00a0 Not as a snack at home or anything like that, I&#8217;ve been fueling my runs with it.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, it&#8217;s still very icky!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6419\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6419\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6419\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/notafan-not.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"124\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Why am I fueling with PB of all things?\u00a0 Here&#8217;s the story:<\/p>\n<p>Y&#8217;all know the docs put me on keto because my body won&#8217;t digest simple sugars anymore.\u00a0 That means I had to find a different way to fuel for my training and my races.\u00a0 It makes me very sad to have to give up my favorite race fuel\/hydration, Tailwind!\u00a0 I&#8217;ve used Tailwind faithfully since 2015.\u00a0 Giving it up has been difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Trying to find a gel or something that doesn&#8217;t contain sugar is really hard!\u00a0 Sugar is easy for the body to break down and is a terrific source of energy, my body just hates it.\u00a0 Lucky me?<\/p>\n<p>Out of desperation I tried PB.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6420\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6420\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6420\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/241685384_2936043773392580_4281831534235142587_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"155\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been fueling with the Jif Sugar Free PB the past few weeks and relying on the keto diet thing to do it&#8217;s magic.\u00a0 I&#8217;m trying really hard to be fat adapted and you know what?\u00a0 It&#8217;s working!\u00a0 Wednesday&#8217;s 20 miler I only needed 4-ish Tablespoons of PB the entire run.\u00a0 I drink a lot of water when I&#8217;m out there to stay hydrated and to wash that nasty PB down.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m carrying the PB in a pocked of my Orange Mud vest.\u00a0 I picked up a couple of these soft flasks and they&#8217;re working out great!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6422\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6422\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6422\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/241708732_195084012717866_935435088871614849_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"155\" height=\"206\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been concerned about electrolytes so I carry green olives in a ziplock and pop a few in my mouth about half way through the run.\u00a0 As a rule, I don&#8217;t go around just eating those things but they&#8217;re great on a run!\u00a0 The salt and fat is perfect and much tastier than that PB.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6421\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-6421\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6421\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/manzanilla-olives.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"527\" height=\"349\" 527px) 100vw, 527px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>My energy levels have been terrific and I don&#8217;t get hungry so I guess this is a good thing!<\/p>\n<p>*If any of you keto\/fat adapted runners have any suggestions on how you fuel, I am all ears.<\/p>\n<p>Just don&#8217;t expect to see me eating pizza with pineapple any day soon!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=6423\"
