Today’s Run: \u00a0Rest day<\/p>\n

Saturday is the big day~the beginning of another race season. \u00a0And what better way to start the season off than with a 5K in your hometown.<\/p>\n

Our downtown has bragging rights to the birthplace of Tennessee Williams. \u00a0His home (300 Main Street) is the starting line and the finish line for the 5K in which we will be running. \u00a0Later on in the afternoon there will be more activities, the primary one being the “Stella” yelling contest. \u00a0It is\u00a0bizarre. \u00a0People take turns standing on the sidewalk yelling, “Stella!!!” on the top of their lungs. \u00a0Strange.<\/p>\n

Anyway, we toe the line at 8:00 am and then we’re off! \u00a0We drove the route this evening. \u00a0It is primarily flat until the last 2\/3 of a mile then it gets a little ugly. \u00a0You run parallel to the river and run down, down, down and then back up, up, up. \u00a0Not much fun. \u00a0But I have run worse I guess (the 10K in Vicksburg, MS. \u00a0That was ALL hills). \u00a0So, we are looking forward to Saturday morning. \u00a0There is a potential for rain and in all honesty, that would be most welcome. \u00a0If it is raining, you know you will not overheat! \u00a0Here is the course for the race~see you there!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
