Have to admit that was a hard earned 26.2 miles. I had fun running that race but I don&#8217;t expect that will be a repeat event for me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=5229\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5229\"><img sick around mile 14 at Phoenix and race day morning at the MS50, I was still running a temp and dealing with a terrible head cold.<\/p>\n<p>To be honest, I was the most nervous about the eye thing.\u00a0 Would I or wouldn&#8217;t I made it through the 31 miles with my vision intact?<\/p>\n<p>I used my eye drops and put on my glasses and headed to the trails.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=5230\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5230\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5230\" I ran the first loop together.\u00a0 It was such a beautiful morning!\u00a0 The skies were sunny and the temps were great!\u00a0 It was an absolutely picture perfect Mississippi morning~a great day to run a few miles out in the woods!<\/p>\n<p>The sweet lady on the right ran with us through the first loop~what a fun time!\u00a0 The last two loops, were the myself and this other very pretty lady.\u00a0 Gotta love the amazing runners you meet!!!<\/p>\n<p>Now, one of the things you need to know about the MS50 is it&#8217;s infamous for it&#8217;s mud and water crossings.\u00a0 Some years are better than others but you&#8217;ll ALWAYS deal with the water and mud.\u00a0 That&#8217;s one of its charms!<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re going to run this race, you&#8217;re going to need to embrace your inner child and expect to have some fun plodding through that sloppy sticky mud.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=5231\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5231\"><img people&#8217;s shoes were claimed by the mud yesterday.\u00a0 Runners were frantically digging through that mud, trying to get their shoes back.<\/p>\n<p>I was like a kid at Christmas because I had just received a brand new SPIbelt in the mail.\u00a0 It has great big, colorful polka dots.\u00a0 What a fun belt!\u00a0 I used it to carry my little bags of Tailwind.\u00a0 I was fueled perfectly for and water, I didn&#8217;t have to worry one little bit about chafing or blisters on my feet.\u00a0 YAY for ChafeX!!!\u00a0 This product has never let me down!<\/p>\n<p><a 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Usually a 50k is pretty smooth sailing but running the fever for this past week took its toll on me.\u00a0 By the 2nd loop, I was not feeling amazing ~ At. All.
