Today’s Run: \u00a02 miles (1 walk, 1 run~my eye started acting up)<\/p>\n

Progress report today. \u00a0We have not done any work on the pergola today. \u00a0We are waiting for yesterday’s concrete to cure. \u00a0Yesterday, however, my husband dug a 36″ deep hole, sunk a 4 x 4 post and filled it up (the hole) with concrete. \u00a0Once that has cured (maybe tonight) we will raise the next post and put horizontal \u00a0beams up to support the posts. \u00a0If we can get that done tonight then maybe, just maybe we can get some cross sections put up!<\/p>\n

Yesterday was pretty exciting. \u00a0We had sunshine in the morning (rain in the afternoon) and the posts that were vertical had shadows! \u00a0Imagine! \u00a0Shade on the South side of the house! \u00a0What a wonderful thing. \u00a0Our air conditioner will thank us and the utility company will cry at the loss of income from our utility bill.<\/p>\n

When the pergola (or arbor, whichever you prefer) is complete, the finished structure will be 10′ x 30′ with 7′ clearance. \u00a0Now, we are\u00a0definitely not that tall but we have some people visit who are easily over 6′ and we do not want them to have to stoop. \u00a0So, we will have room for company, table and chairs, and an industrial size fan. \u00a0Cool Beans!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
