April 9, 2015 was a life changing day for me. \u00a0It was the day I was matched with my #IRun4 buddy, Aiden,<\/p>\n

Since that day, my running has done a 360.<\/p>\n

Pre-Aiden, my running was all about: How much faster can I get. \u00a0Can I PR this race? Can I AG (Age Group) place?<\/p>\n

Let’s face it, running can be a very selfish sport. \u00a0A lot of us train solo. \u00a0We have our own thoughts while we train. \u00a0There’s nobody else to distract us with conversation…it can be (if you let it)\u00a0be all about yourself.<\/p>\n

Back in 2014 I had heard about the IRun4Michael program. \u00a0I had other running friends who had been matched with their buddies. \u00a0I witnessed the relationships between themselves and their buddies and buddies families. It was an amazing thing to watch!<\/p>\n

I started doing some online research about this program and decided it was something of which I needed to be a part. \u00a0I filled out the forms and was placed on the waiting list to be matched with my very own buddy!<\/p>\n

Over the moon excited doesn’t come close to telling you how I felt!<\/p>\n

There is a loooonnng wait to be matched with your buddy! \u00a0Thinking back, I waited between 7-8 months before I was matched with Aiden. \u00a0It was love at first sight!<\/p>\n

Aiden was my buddy. \u00a0I was his runner and I wanted more than anything else to make him proud!<\/p>\n

My running changed.<\/p>\n

Now don’t get me wrong! \u00a0I still had goals! \u00a0I still registered for some crazy races BUT the overall objective was to earn some bling for my buddy.<\/p>\n

Aiden is my hero. \u00a0He is the Best-est!!! \u00a0He deserves every single piece of bling I can earn for him and I do my best to get it for him. \u00a0I don’t want him to regret having me as his runner.<\/p>\n

When we were matched, he was 3.5 years old and here he is working his way towards being 6 years old! \u00a0My buddy is growing up!!! \u00a0It’s so hard to believe~he’s getting so big! \u00a0I’m so proud of him!!!<\/p>\n

This coming Sunday, April 9, Aiden and I will celebrate our 2 year “Matchiversary.” \u00a0Two years ago we became running buddies.<\/p>\n

I wouldn’t change a thing.<\/p>\n

I’ll run my heart out for this guy. \u00a0He really IS the best-est!<\/p>\n
