I’ll admit I’m not the most disciplined person when it comes to stretching and rolling before and\/or after a run. \u00a0Usually before a run, I’m zipping around the house trying to get those ducks of mine in their row. \u00a0After the run, I’m squabbling with my Garmin trying to get it to download and post my run on social media. \u00a0#priorities<\/p>\n

Now, I’ve gone and got myself in a pickle.<\/p>\n

My hamstrings and glutes are incredibly unhappy with me. I don’t even think they’re on speaking terms anymore!<\/p>\n

Time for some help.<\/p>\n

I have a friend who, in my opinion, is an elite athlete. \u00a0She is simply amazing and I respect her opinion immensely. I Facebook messaged her today.<\/p>\n

Let’s backtrack to earlier this morning:<\/p>\n

We need to establish that fact that MFH (My Favorite Husband) likes to tell me, after I’ve asked him a particularly silly question, “Google is your friend.”<\/p>\n

Knowing that Google is my friend, I had spent the morning Googling things like, “Sports massage” and “Sports massage near me.” \u00a0This was what I was getting from my Google search:<\/p>\n

While that’s all very good and nice, it isn’t going to do much about my super tight hamstrings and glutes!<\/p>\n

That’s why I messaged my friend. \u00a0My Google search was getting me nowhere.<\/p>\n

She was awesome (of course!) and pointed me in the right direction and Friday morning at 9:30, I’ll be getting my first ever(!) sports massage.<\/p>\n

I have my fingers crossed for magic!<\/p>\n

I’ve heard wonderful things about the place to where I’ll be going so I’m hopeful.<\/p>\n

I’m a lucky girl in that MFH didn’t bat an eye when I asked him about doing this. \u00a0See…<\/p>\n

A while back, I handed him Paxton’s tennis ball and asked him to really work the area of the gluteal fold. \u00a0I think he was kind of squeamish(?) and Paxton wasn’t exactly thrilled with his tennis ball being used in such a manner.<\/p>\n

MFH did a reasonable job and I was able to keep running but I know he didn’t like doing it. \u00a0That and I was squirming all over the place because it hurt!<\/p>\n

I’ve been warned that Friday is going to hurt, too. \u00a0I’ve been advised to take Advil first! \u00a0I probably won’t. \u00a0I’ll have my morning coffee and then head over to Starkville for the massage.<\/p>\n

I’ll keep you up to date on how it goes!<\/p>\n
