I promised my next blog would be about the Berlin Marathon Expo.<\/p>\n

Last year, the Expo was held in an old airport. \u00a0It was actually a pretty cool building! \u00a0They did have a lot of vendors crammed into one large room and it was very congested and warm. \u00a0This year they moved it to a new facility. \u00a0They were many rooms so things were spread out and it was much more enjoyable.<\/p>\n

My sister and I went to the Expo on Thursday. \u00a0They say not to spend more than one hour at an Expo so you don’t get too tired. Seeing as this is a HUGE Expo, I knew there was no way we could see it in an hour, so we went on Thursday. \u00a0We’d have two days to recover before race day on Sunday.<\/p>\n

When we arrived, the doors hadn’t been opened yet. \u00a0We had to wait in a very long line until they opened the doors. \u00a0The weather was nice AND I bumped into a Twitter friend so we chatted to pass the time. Nice lady!!!<\/p>\n

Before you could even enter the building, you had to present some paperwork and photo ID. \u00a0If you didn’t have it, Sorry Charlie. \u00a0They wouldn’t let you in.<\/p>\n

This was what I saw as soon as I entered the building.<\/p>\n

Wall to wall runners! \u00a0I was thinking to myself, “Wow! \u00a0Lots of people!!!” \u00a0Then I had to remind myself that this was the third largest marathon in the world, so of course there would be lots of people!<\/p>\n

As you progressed in this hall, you were stopped and a person sewed this band around your wrist. \u00a0This was part of the security for the race. \u00a0You were not allowed into the runners area on race day *this means you couldn’t get to the corrals to run the race* without the band.<\/p>\n

It was made of some sort of nylon rope-ish, rock climbing worthy, heavy duty stuff. \u00a0I had to have MFH (My Favorite Husband) cut it off when I got home. \u00a0It was on there good!<\/p>\n

After the band, I was able to pick up my bib. \u00a0YAY!!! \u00a0Getting my bib is always my favorite part of the Expo. \u00a0I’m always excited to see if the race put my name on the bib or just a number. \u00a0This time, my name was on the bib.<\/p>\n

Now, Adidas is the “official logo company” for this race. \u00a0If you want the “real deal” merchandise, you had to go to Adidas. \u00a0They have a store in the Expo. \u00a0They also have a wall at the Expo. \u00a0You can write whatever you want on the wall for everybody to see. \u00a0I wrote, #IRun4Aiden. I held my bib up underneath my artwork and my sister took a pic. \u00a0I posted the pic to Aiden that evening on the IRun4Michael page on FB.<\/p>\n

My next stop was to the Abbott World Marathon Majors booth. \u00a0Seeing as I am an Ambassador for the Abbott World Marathon Majors, I was excited to stop by and say, “Hi!”<\/p>\n

While at the AbbottWMM booth, I decided to play and had pics taken there. \u00a0I ran the Chicago Marathon in 2014, so I had my pic taken in front of the post about Chicago.<\/p>\n

I ran the Berlin Marathon last year (2015) and was running it again this year (2016), so I had my pic taken there, too!<\/p>\n

Finally, since the lottery drawing for the London Marathon is being held this coming Monday, I had my pic taken in front of the London post…with my fingers crossed for good luck!<\/p>\n

My sister was wanting to stop by the Hoka store in the Expo. \u00a0We headed over there next. There were TONS of pink Hoka’s! \u00a0I’d never seen so many pink running shoes in my life!<\/p>\n

My sister did pick out a pair….they were not pink. \u00a0I think they were blue!<\/p>\n

After 4 hours, we were kind of Expo’d out. \u00a0I had promised a friend who lives in Washington state that I would pick him up a shirt from the Expo. \u00a0We headed back to the Adidas store in the Expo to find him a shirt.<\/p>\n

Would you believe I forgot to take a pic of the shirt!?! \u00a0I dropped the ball there, didn’t I? \u00a0Oh well….it was red. \u00a0LOL!!!<\/p>\n

We stood in line for an hour to buy that shirt! \u00a0It was just soooo busy!!! \u00a0As Sam Wise Gamgee says, “A promise is a promise, Mr. Frodo.” \u00a0While my friend’s name is not Frodo, I had promised him a shirt, so I resigned myself to standing in line. \u00a0This was the line….it took two pics to get the whole line.<\/p>\n

They had the line set up like at a Disney amusement park ride. \u00a0Back and forth and back and forth. \u00a0Finally, though, it was our turn. \u00a0We paid and then left the Expo to find some dinner! \u00a0We were hungry!<\/p>\n

It was a terrific Expo!!! \u00a0Had a great time!!!<\/p>\n
