Today’s Run: \u00a0Rest Day!<\/p>\n

My husband is a ham. \u00a0By that I mean one of his hobbies is amateur radio. \u00a0He is a lifetime member of the ARRL and has awards, plaques, certificates all pertaining to this hobby. \u00a0He also has a tower. \u00a0This tower is 60′ tall and has four different\u00a0<\/em>antennae sprouting in different directions. It is a work of art.<\/p>\n

But one can always improve upon perfection!<\/p>\n

About a month ago we went on a Sunday drive to Smithville, Mississippi. While on that trip, we picked up some hard wire that they use for cable T.V. \u00a0(you have probably seen some of it growing between utility poles in your neighborhood). \u00a0It is about an inch in diameter and it is hard~hence the name, hard wire! \u00a0Anyway, we got that because my husband thought he would like to run some of that up his tower to be a higher\u00a0efficiency\u00a0transmitting\u00a0line.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, we spent about 2 1\/2 hours climbing the tower (my husband climbed~I am afraid of heights!), replacing an antenna, hauling up the hard wire and installing various and sundry extras. \u00a0And it works! \u00a0Bells and Whistles!!! \u00a0Why the rush? \u00a0Well, because there is a ham radio contest this weekend, silly. \u00a0We MUST be ready for the contest!<\/p>\n

Really, I like my husbands hobby and am very glad that he enjoys it! \u00a0I just like to tease.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
