MFH (My Favorite Husband) will confirm that I have been grumbling about my laptop for a very long time. \u00a0That laptop and I have not been seeing eye to eye. \u00a0As a matter of fact, we didn’t get along at all!<\/p>\n

I told MFH I wanted a new laptop.<\/p>\n

I told him that a good two years ago.<\/p>\n

Now, I have to hand it to MFH. \u00a0He works in IT. \u00a0He knows his way around computers so it used to drive me crazy when something that was driving me bonkers would all of a suddenly go away once he finally had a chance to look at my computer. \u00a0It was like taking your car to the mechanic. \u00a0You know? \u00a0It gives you major grief but won’t act up for the mechanic? \u00a0Yea. \u00a0That was my laptop.<\/p>\n

Finally, though, it started acting up for MFH.<\/p>\n

I’ve never been so happy in all my life!<\/p>\n

MFH mentioned to me that maybe it was time to look for a different laptop for me.<\/p>\n

YAY!!!<\/p>\n

I started researching what was available. \u00a0I asked MFH what I needed. \u00a0He told me pretty much what kind of a machine I should be looking at. \u00a0I then took that info to FB and Twitter. \u00a0There’s a lot of knowledge out there!<\/p>\n

What I learned? \u00a0 Do NOT get a Chromebook. \u00a0Not because they are evil. \u00a0No, Chromebooks are actually pretty nice! \u00a0With all the stuff I do with my Garmin? \u00a0Not compatible for the most part.<\/p>\n

It was time to start looking into laptops.<\/p>\n

I wasn’t really interested in a brand new laptop. \u00a0Those things are expensive!<\/p>\n

After doing a bit of research, the decision was made to look at refurbished laptops from around 2013-2015. \u00a0After some hit and miss I found a site that sold overstocked laptops and that is where we ended up making our purchase. \u00a0I ended up with a Dell Latitude E7240 Ultrabook. \u00a0Pretty little laptop!<\/p>\n

Super shiny and it works like a charm!<\/p>\n

Now, this is where things get interesting.<\/p>\n

I had been working in my little “Inspiration Corner” on a pretty little desk. \u00a0Little being the operative word. It is a very pretty desk and I really liked it…for its looks. \u00a0MFH always grumbled about the desk and the set up I had there.<\/p>\n

About 3 or 4 years ago for my birthday, MFH had bought me a second monitor. \u00a0I was, quite honestly, puzzled. \u00a0Why would I want a second monitor? I mean, I had the laptop what more did I need? \u00a0THEN, I got the second monitor. \u00a0Having two screens on which to work? \u00a0Sweet!!!<\/p>\n

Him complaining about my setup, I quite honestly didn’t understand. \u00a0I thought I had it made!!!<\/p>\n

After we had agreed on the Dell and ordered it, as a surprise, MFH had also ordered a docking station! \u00a0He had one at his work station and I thought it was kind of cool but I never had the, “I want one” covet thing going.<\/p>\n

The docking station arrived the day before the laptop arrived. \u00a0Now, I was dying for the laptop to arrive!<\/p>\n

The FedEx delivery person arrived Saturday morning, right after I finished my ladder workout. \u00a0I was all sweaty and I smelled bad. \u00a0Very. Bad. \u00a0I apologized but greedily took my laptop into the house.<\/p>\n

MFH had been at running group and got home practically as soon as the Fed Ex person had left.<\/p>\n

We went about setting things up.<\/p>\n

He still didn’t like my old monitor. He still didn’t like my desk.<\/p>\n

I thought I was sitting pretty sweet!<\/p>\n

He decided we needed to go shopping so we got cleaned up and went to Walmart for a cordless mouse and keyboard and then to Office Depot for a new monitor.<\/p>\n

Let me make it clear, this was all new to me. \u00a0This was waaaayyy out of my knowledge “zone.” \u00a0I am about as tech illiterate\/challenged as a person can get! \u00a0I was just following MFH from store to store. \u00a0I DID get to pick out what color mouse I got (purple) but other than that? \u00a0Outta my league!<\/p>\n

We went to Office Depot and found they were having a sale on monitors. \u00a0Walmart was not having a sale and I was having a serious case of sticker shock! \u00a0I couldn’t imagine paying that much for an extra monitor! \u00a0Imagine my surprise when we went to Office Depot and MFH bought 2~TWO new monitors!!!<\/p>\n

We brought all the goodies home and started to set up my new work station.<\/p>\n

MFH still wasn’t a fan of the desk.<\/p>\n

We ended up going to the storage locker. \u00a0#1 Son had a table\/desk thingy that he said we could use\/do with whatever we wanted.<\/p>\n

We brought it home.<\/p>\n

It was high. \u00a0I am short. \u00a0Not a good combo.<\/p>\n

MFH grabbed a saw. \u00a0He measured. \u00a0He chopped off the legs a good 4 inches!<\/p>\n

Now, I have a nice desk. \u00a0Two new monitors, and new laptop with docking station!<\/p>\n

I am so spoiled!!!<\/p>\n
