I really need to post more often! \u00a0Here I am with a zillion things to tell you about. \u00a0My apologies ahead of time for what could turn into a long post.<\/p>\n

First things first. \u00a0Shoes!<\/p>\n

I’ve been having some niggles lately. \u00a0They started getting serious in January. \u00a0For the life of me I couldn’t figure out what was going on! \u00a0I was taking an un-biased look at my running…was my form correct? \u00a0Was I putting in too many miles? \u00a0Was I varying my workouts enough? \u00a0Everything seemed okay but those niggles went from a murmur to a scream. \u00a0Something had to be done because I really thought I was heading towards a serious injury.<\/p>\n

Being the slow learner that I am, it finally dawned on me that the culprit was my shoes. \u00a0I have been in the same brand of shoes since the middle of 2014. \u00a0You wouldn’t think that would be a problem but you and I both know that we change over time and apparently it was time for some shoe shopping. \u00a0I did some homework and finally settled on something and ordered a pair. \u00a0I ordered from On Running.<\/p>\n

On is a Swiss company and their shoes are not your average run of the mill running shoe. \u00a0I was excited and scared to death to run in them. \u00a0My first run, a 7 miler, was the first pain free run I’d had since January! \u00a0BOOM! \u00a0I was sold. \u00a0\u00a0https:\/\/www.on-running.com\/en-us<\/p>\n

Since that first run, I’ve ordered another pair and they should be arriving any day! \u00a0Can’t wait to put some miles on them!<\/p>\n

I am in taper mode for Grandma’s Marathon right now. \u00a0My miles are dropping. \u00a0Tomorrow is the longest run I’ll have before race day on June 18. \u00a0It’ll be 16 miles.<\/p>\n

Our weather is getting seriously toasty (just the way I like it!) but it is a challenge to do long runs in it. \u00a0Tomorrow’s run will begin at 3:00 am. \u00a0I’m scheduled for the first 11 miles at an easy pace with the last 5 miles as a “fast finish.” \u00a0It’ll be a tough workout! \u00a0Can’t wait!<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I have been chatting. \u00a0We thought that since we were going to be way up north (Duluth, MN) for Grandma’s Marathon, that maybe we should pop on over to Michigan and meet my #IRun4 buddy, Aiden and his family! \u00a0I chatted with Aiden’s mom a bit on FB Msg and it looks like it’s a go! \u00a0YAY!!! \u00a0So excited to meet Aiden and his family in a few weeks!!! \u00a0#IRun4Aiden<\/p>\n

Yesterday I had just a small run. \u00a05.5 miles. \u00a0While I was gone on my run, MFH and #1 Son left to go fishing. \u00a0While they were fishing, I decided to mow. \u00a0I peeled off my running stuff and put on some retired running stuff and hopped on the mower. \u00a0Three hours later, the yard looked great!<\/p>\n

Right when I finished mowing, the guys got back from fishing. \u00a0It was too hot for the fish to be biting so they called it a day. \u00a0I fixed them some lunch and sat down to rest. \u00a0Still hadn’t had time for a shower and man, I’m here to tell you, I smelled. \u00a0BAD! I was all gritty from dirt and grass blowing on \u00a0me. \u00a0 Yuck.<\/p>\n

Finally, I was getting ready to hop in the shower when #1 Son asked me to go on a drive with him.<\/p>\n

What!?!<\/p>\n

“Mom, I’m in a hurry. \u00a0I told them I would meet them in Corinth in 1.5 hrs.”<\/p>\n

Corinth is a 2 hr drive from my house.<\/p>\n

“You’re never going to make to Corinth in that amount of time. \u00a0You should call them back and switch the time.”<\/p>\n

After a bunch of he-said, she-said, he finally told me what was going on. \u00a0He was going to pick up a puppy. \u00a0He needed somebody to help. \u00a0That somebody was me.<\/p>\n

I threw on some different clothes because I was still in the nasty mowing clothes and we bolted for the door.<\/p>\n

Long story short, we ended up meeting in Tupelo instead of Corinth. \u00a0#1 Son got his puppy…and she is a cutie!!! \u00a0AND, I didn’t get my shower until close to 9:00 pm. \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

The only other cute and totally adorable thing that has happened was with Paxton, my pampered, pudgy pooch. \u00a0Sunday, MFH made waffles for breakfast instead of the usual pancakes. \u00a0Paxton LOVES waffles but I guess he wasn’t in the mood for them or something.<\/p>\n

We gave him his leftover waffle and instead of eating it himself, he decided to share it with pink puppy instead.<\/p>\n

That Paxton, he’s a stitch! \u00a0This was his face when he finally figured out that he really WAS on a puppy diet. \u00a0He wasn’t impressed. \u00a0LOL!!!<\/p>\n

I think that’s all the news? \u00a0I’ll probably think of something else later on but we’ll close this down. \u00a0Happy Running, all!!!<\/p>\n
