Hi! \u00a0Remember me? \u00a0Wowzers but time has gotten away from me! \u00a0There’s no way we can catch up on all that has happened since we last chatted so I think we’ll for the most part, just pick up and pretend my lapse in blogging never happened.<\/p>\n
This coming Wednesday is the last long run before the taper for Grandma’s Marathon! \u00a0Man, that race snuck up on me! \u00a0It’s only 28 days away~June 18th. \u00a0MFH (MY Favorite Husband) and I will be driving up to Duluth about 4 days before the race. \u00a0We’ll rest, do the Expo, run and then have a few day’s after the race for a little vacation.<\/p>\n
I was surprised to discover that I will know close to a dozen runners who will be in Duluth for the race! \u00a0Of course, MFH will do an *eye roll* and say something like, “I can’t take you anywhere without you knowing somebody!” \u00a0Hahaha!!! \u00a0He’s so cute! \u00a0You should have heard him in Germany last fall when I knew 6 people there. \u00a0He couldn’t believe it! \u00a0It was pretty funny!!! \u00a0The problem (if you chose to see it as a problem) is that I talk waaaayyy too much. \u00a0Doesn’t matter if it’s online or IRL, I talk and never come up for air. \u00a0Meet a lot of people that way!<\/p>\n
MFH and I traded in our Honda Accord this week. \u00a0We’ve had good success with Honda’s over the years! \u00a0Mechanically, that is. \u00a0When we lived in Estes Park, we bought a brand new Honda Element. \u00a0Can’t remember what year that was but the seats in that were just awful! \u00a0Most uncomfortable car EVER! \u00a0At least I thought it was the most uncomfortable car until we bought the Accord. \u00a0The past 3(ish) years, if we took a car trip further than, say, 2 hrs, I had to sit on two car cushions and take Advil every 4 hours. \u00a0That car killed my butt!!!<\/p>\n
We finally decided with our trip to MN coming up that it was time to upgrade the car. \u00a0We purchased a 2012 Lexus ES350. \u00a0It’s not a bells and whistles Lexus but to us, it sure is~and my rumpatootis is so very, very happy!!! \u00a0The only thing that pained me with the trade in of the Accord was giving up my running decals. \u00a0Sad Panda.<\/p>\n
You all know that I’m a numbers nerd so let’s look at the year to date total for 2016: \u00a0954.15 miles. \u00a0 I’d like to hit 1000 before the end of May. \u00a0Fingers crossed on that!<\/p>\n
Update on my toenail removal from March. \u00a0They are healed in that they don’t ooze any more. \u00a0The toes still look nasty because they are huge scabs at the end of my toes. \u00a0Wait~should I have warned you first that this part was going to be gross? \u00a0Oops! \u00a0No pics. \u00a0You’re welcome! \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n
My sister ran her first Half Marathon last Saturday. \u00a0I was super happy for her! \u00a0She totally crushed it coming in 15 minutes faster than her goal time! \u00a0BOOM!!!<\/p>\n
That race was all for her. \u00a0I went along for support. \u00a0Period. \u00a0She wanted me to finish enough ahead of her to get pics of her crossing the finish line. \u00a0I told her I could do that!<\/p>\n
My cute as a button #IRun4 buddy, Aiden, gets to play little league this summer! \u00a0His mom found a place that has baseball for children with special needs and was able to secure him a place on a team! \u00a0Come June 5, I am all set to cheer on his team the Blue Jays! \u00a0Go Blue Jays!!!<\/p>\n
Our radio station, WMFH-LP FM, Classic Book Radio is up and running and doing well. \u00a0We have received our final approval from the FCC so we’re the real deal! \u00a0Next thing we’re working on is providing streaming. We have a few financial hurdles to cross before we are able to get all of those ducks in a row.<\/p>\n
I am still running 5 day’s a week and averaging 50-55 miles a week. \u00a0I very seriously love, love, love to run! \u00a0After Grandma’s Marathon, I will be at the Peachtree 10K in Atlanta, GA, on July 4th. \u00a0Next will be the Berlin Marathon in Sept. \u00a0I hope to run the Gateway to the Delta 10 miler in November. \u00a0The Mississippi Blues Marathon in January and then Rocky Raccoon 100 Miler in Feb.<\/p>\n
The drawing for the London Marathon will be held in October. \u00a0Getting into London through the lottery system is basically impossible so I’m not getting my hopes up for that. \u00a0Then again, stranger things have been known to happen! \u00a0If I am unsuccessful with London, I will be putting my name in the hat for NYC Marathon…again. \u00a0This will be my 4th year in a row trying for NYC. \u00a0MFH and I chatted about this race. \u00a0If I am unsuccessful in the lottery for NYC this fall, I will be running in the fall of 2017 on a charity bib. \u00a0#goodthingscometothosethatwait<\/p>\n
