Friday, early morning, I will be leaving for a drive to Austin, Texas. \u00a0I’m pretty stoked about this!!!<\/p>\n

The past 4(?) years, I’ve had some online running friends. \u00a0All this time, we’ve chatted online practically every day and finally(!) I will be getting to meet them IRL! \u00a0This is pretty cool beans stuff!!!<\/p>\n

I’ve checked Google Maps and the drive will take close to 11 hours. \u00a0That’s a long drive!<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) will be staying home with the animals. \u00a0In reality, he has a project for work so he’ll be a pretty busy guy with the project and taking care of Paxton and the cats.<\/p>\n

I’ll be staying with one of my friends in Austin, Texas. \u00a0She invited me to crash on her sofa. \u00a0That was very nice of her and I intend to do just that! \u00a0She loves wine and jigsaw puzzles. \u00a0MFH and I went shopping yesterday and I found a 4000 piece jigsaw puzzle for her. \u00a0It’s supposed to be just a tad shy of 5′ when it’s all put together! \u00a0That’s one BIG puzzle! \u00a0I also picked up a bottle of wine for her. \u00a0I know it’s inconvenient to have house guests so hopefully this will take the sting out of having me on her sofa for three days.<\/p>\n

We will be running the Austin 10\/20 on Sunday. \u00a0That’s the entire\/official reason for the trip. \u00a0The race AND getting to meet all these people.<\/p>\n

Originally, another running friend of mine was going to travel with me but she bailed at the last minute so I’ll be traveling solo. \u00a0MFH is going to make sure our AAA is paid up. \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

This morning (Easter Sunday) I ran a quick 7 miles before church. \u00a0The humidity is back here in Mississippi. \u00a0Humidity always makes running more of a challenge. \u00a0Builds character, right?<\/p>\n

TBH, I’m happy to be seeing some humidity. \u00a0I’m hoping for a little heat this week as well! \u00a0Why? \u00a0Because I’m expecting a lot of both at next Sunday’s race and I’d like to be able to acclimate to it as much as possible!<\/p>\n

“Experts” say it takes about 2 weeks to completely acclimate to a warmer\/humid climate. \u00a0I only have one week but as my FIL likes to say, “Beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.” \u00a0Hahaha!!! \u00a0Well, there is that!<\/p>\n

With the weather warming up, this also presents a new “season.” \u00a0Radar Racing Season.<\/p>\n

Radar racing season is a real thing!!! \u00a0Ask any runner who has a training schedule to keep and has a nasty stretch of weather heading his\/her way! \u00a0I did this just this morning on my 7 miler before church. \u00a0Barely got it done, too!<\/p>\n

Aiden is feeling better! \u00a0This is wonderful news!!! \u00a0He had a bad patch there for about a week. \u00a0He was hospitalized for 4 days. \u00a0Poor kid! \u00a0He’s been home close to 4 days now and doing tons better! \u00a0He even got to color Easter Eggs last night! \u00a0Lucky kid!!! \u00a0Those are some pretty eggs!<\/p>\n

As we wind up this Easter Sunday, let’s not forget the real reason we celebrate this day.<\/p>\n
