Today’s Run: \u00a0Rest Day<\/p>\n

I am sure that many of you are on Facebook (FB) and have a\u00a0menagerie of FB friends.\u00a0I have 58 Facebook friends, adding a few here and there. \u00a0I am not in the habit of adding people like a collection. \u00a0The people listed on my Facebook friends list are\u00a0truly\u00a0my friends. \u00a0Now, that is a novel idea.<\/p>\n

All that to say that one of my Facebook friends proved herself to be a true friend today. \u00a0She knew that I like to collect and restore antique radios. \u00a0She and her husband just happened to own an old console radio. \u00a0Her husband had spent some time fixing up the cabinet but they really did not know what to do next. \u00a0It belonged to his Great Aunt so there was some sentimental attachment to this radio (understandably so!) \u00a0Anyway, she contacted me yesterday evening and asked if I would like to have the old radio. \u00a0Of course I said “Yes!” and began asking a million questions.<\/p>\n

So, today my husband and I drove to Starkville, Mississippi, and picked up a nicely maintained 1941 Silvertone console radio! \u00a0The cabinet is beautiful~her husband did a great job on it. \u00a0This winter we will begin the work on making the “innards” match the outside and have a fabulous console radio that plays as nice as it looks. \u00a0Here is a pic of just the console without the chassis in. \u00a0We will get it up and running and them have them over for a listen!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
