Back in 1998 the movie, “You’ve Got Mail” was released. \u00a0It starred Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. \u00a0It was cute and innocent and was a favorite at our house for a long time. \u00a0It was one of those movies you could watch with the kids and not have to worry about any scenes or language.\"You_ve_Got_Mail-575811674-large\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Well, yesterday, Paxton got mail!<\/p>\n

That’s right, my dog got mail. \u00a0Not a doggie treat advertisement. Honest to goodness mail. \u00a0It was a padded envelope and it was stuffed with neckties! \u00a0How funny and awesome is that!?!<\/p>\n

A friend of mine from my college days (1980-1984) is now a FB friend as well. \u00a0She loves following the adventures of Paxton on FB. \u00a0She watches to see if he gets his daily Nutty Bar and decided that Paxton needed a new necktie.<\/p>\n

So, she mailed him five. \u00a0FIVE neckties through the mail to my dog.<\/p>\n

Paxton was thrilled!!! \u00a0He’d never received mail before. \u00a0I let him sniff the package. \u00a0I showed him each of the ties and then let him pick out which one he would like to wear first. \u00a0*I couldn’t believe I was doing it at the time. \u00a0I mean, who let’s their dog select which necktie it wants to wear? \u00a0Who else even has a dog that even wears neckties!? \u00a0Think about it!*<\/p>\n

He finally decided on the tie with the flowers.<\/p>\n

Now, MFH (My Favorite Husband) was on a conference call so he was unavailable to do the windsor knot. \u00a0I DO know how to tie a windsor knot, I’m just not very good at it. \u00a0Paxton know this and prefers for MFH to tie his neckties. #fussydog #beggarscantbechoosy<\/p>\n

I told Paxton that if he wanted to wear the tie, he’d have to settle for my knot. \u00a0End of discussion. \u00a0Paxton decided that he would “let” me tie his new tie.<\/p>\n

After I tied the windsor knot, I slipped the tie around Paxton’s neck. \u00a0Oh my goodness! \u00a0What a happy puppy!!! \u00a0He ran around the house so excited! \u00a0Once he stopped running, he picked up the tie in his mouth and showed it to me.<\/p>\n

“See? \u00a0I have a new necktie!” he was saying to me.<\/p>\n

So, of course I was obligated to take his pic. \u00a0smh<\/p>\n

I received some mail yesterday as well! \u00a0It was from a running friend that I finally got to meet IRL at MCM (Marine Corps Marathon) last October. \u00a0She said I motivated her and she wanted to thank me and to encourage me on the 50 Miler coming up. \u00a0How thoughtful!<\/p>\n

Yesterday was a fun mail day at our house.<\/p>\n

Today is a rest day. \u00a0I did clean house (believe it or not!) and Paxton decided that if I was taking a rest day, he would, too!<\/p>\n
