Yesterday was a blast! \u00a0It was a big day but it was a blast!!!<\/p>\n

My sister and I had decided to head up north to Tupelo, Mississippi, to do a little shopping. \u00a0She is getting back into running and needed a new pair of running shoes. \u00a0There is an excellent store in Tupelo that will “fit” you for running shoes. \u00a0They watch you walk. \u00a0Look at your gait and foot strike. \u00a0Check the arch of your foot. \u00a0They discuss your goals, distances you’ll be running…all of that. \u00a0THEN, based on all of that, they recommend some running shoes that would be appropriate for you. \u00a0You try on various pairs of shoes. \u00a0Wear them for a bit. \u00a0Walk around. \u00a0Run around….then you can buy a pair if you find you that you think will work. \u00a0They also have a great return policy. \u00a0Awesome store!<\/p>\n

That was our #1 stop on our shopping trip.<\/p>\n

We were wanting to get an “early start.” \u00a0For us, that’s between 10:30-11:00 am. \u00a0Tupelo is an hour north of my house, so we would get there around noon.<\/p>\n

Before we could head north, I needed to run 10 miles. \u00a0My sister likes to sleep in so I had plenty of time to get my run done.<\/p>\n

Lately it’s been chilly here in Mississippi and I’ve been fiddling around in the mornings waiting for it to warm up a bit. \u00a0No time for that yesterday. \u00a0I headed out in the 24* \u00a015mph NW wind and started my run.<\/p>\n

It. Was. Cold. \u00a0Looking back on the run, I probably should have worn running tights instead of shorts. \u00a0#stillthawingout<\/p>\n

I finished my 10. \u00a0As soon my frozen self stepped into the house, my sister FB msg me to say she was leaving her house to come pick me up. \u00a0Perfect timing!<\/p>\n

I took a few minutes to thaw out and then headed to the shower. \u00a0I was almost ready when she got to the house. \u00a0A few more minutes spent beautifying and we hopped in her car and had the most fun ever shopping!<\/p>\n

We bought running shoes, new jeans, a fancy cupcake for MFH (My Favorite Husband). \u00a0We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch…we just had fun. \u00a0We got home a little after 6:00 pm. \u00a0I don’t know about her, but I was toast! \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

This brings me to the entire purpose of this blog. \u00a0I have a story to tell you from the shoe store:<\/p>\n

My sister was trying on different shoes. \u00a0She was being careful about which shoes she would purchase. \u00a0She was asking the right questions. \u00a0Everything was going very well.<\/p>\n

We had this cute little college girl helping us. \u00a0She runs on her track team at her school. \u00a0She said it is a “small college” after I had said that if she is on her college track team she must be pretty fast!<\/p>\n

“No.” she said. “I’m not that fast. \u00a0I only run about a 5 minute mile.”<\/p>\n

I just smiled and thought of my mile splits and knew she would be appalled if she ran my splits! \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

We were finally checking out, paying our tab, when this little college girl looks at me and says, “I hope I’m like you and still running when I’m old.”<\/p>\n

I want you to know I smiled nicely and said something encouraging to her. \u00a0I tried super, duper hard not to laugh out loud because that was the funniest thing EVER!!!<\/p>\n

Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

She’s did a great job in helping us with running shoes and I wish her the very best. \u00a0That was just too funny, though!<\/p>\n
