I knew it had been a little while since I’d blogged. \u00a0I looked back and saw my last blog was on November 11. \u00a0Today (or tonight, rather) is November 28. \u00a0Oops! \u00a0Too long. \u00a0We have some catching up to do!<\/p>\n

For starters: \u00a0My tally for miles run this calendar year: \u00a02136.68 miles. \u00a0This number makes me happy. \u00a0Do you think we’ll hit 2200 by the end of the year? \u00a0That would be too cool!!!<\/p>\n

I mailed off Aiden’s Christmas package to him yesterday. \u00a0My sister made (croquet\/knit?) him a winter hat with Michigan’s colors. \u00a0His family are big Michigan fans. \u00a0I mean BIG Michigan fans! \u00a0It’s a cute hat! \u00a0I think he’ll like it. \u00a0Of course, we sent off a jar of honey from our bees. \u00a0That’s a must have. \u00a0Other things and of course medals. \u00a0He will be getting 4 medals in this package. \u00a0We have one from the Marine Corps Marathon, the 2015 miles in 2015 gave out medals when you reached your goal, \u00a0one from the Gateway to the Delta 10 Miler and one from the Tanglefoot Turkey Trot Half Marathon I ran on Thanksgiving morning.<\/p>\n

Thanksgiving was this past Thursday. \u00a0I hope everybody had a great day! \u00a0MFH (My Favorite Husband), Paxton and I left our house 4:00 am on Thanksgiving Day to drive to New Albany, Mississippi, for the Half Marathon. \u00a0I ran the race~super fun race!!! \u00a0It’s low key. \u00a0A very nice route. \u00a0Not too hard but not too easy either. \u00a0Met some people I know from online. \u00a0Photo ops (of course!) We stayed for the awards because I had placed 1st in my Age Group! \u00a0YAY!!!<\/p>\n

This is a pic of one of my online friends I met at the race. \u00a0Super nice lady! \u00a0She ran a marathon in San Francisco this fall. \u00a0We know a lot of the same people so we talked and talked and talked. \u00a0Fun times!!!<\/p>\n

A lot of people at the race were wearing orange. \u00a0A few weeks before this event, one of the local runners son was injured in an ATV accident and sustained a substantial brain injury. \u00a0To show our respect to the family, we all wore orange (big Tennessee fans).<\/p>\n

Because we were hosting Thanksgiving this year AND because we would be doing the Christmas gift exchange with my side of the family, I had put the tree up early. \u00a0Can’t very well celebrate Christmas without a tree, right?<\/p>\n

When I first put the tree up, Castro was afraid of it. \u00a0Wouldn’t go anywhere near the thing. \u00a0As you can see in the pic, he got over that. \u00a0In this pic, I had caught him reaching out to clobber a decoration. \u00a0As soon as he saw me with the camera, he pretended to be getting ready for a kitty nap. \u00a0I was not fooled.<\/p>\n

I’ve been keeping a pretty close eye on Castro and Kali. \u00a0Those two cats…well, I think our tree is doomed.<\/p>\n

While MFH and I were at the race, my sister was super nice and came over to my house early and put the turkey in the oven. \u00a0How awesome is that!?! \u00a0It came out wonderful!!!<\/p>\n

The week leading up to Thanksgiving saw Mississippi in a bit of a cold snap. \u00a0By that I mean it was very, very cold! \u00a0Seeing as I am a self proclaimed #coldweathersissy this cold weather was not sitting well with me at all. \u00a0I pulled on every stitch of cold weather running gear I owned before heading out of the house. \u00a0One day I ran 10 miles and didn’t break a sweat. \u00a0That is soooooo wrong!!! \u00a0Too cold. \u00a0I’ve been doing my fair share of grumbling about the cold weather online. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

Because it’s been chilly, I’ve been using the infamous “Fuzzy Blanket” at night. \u00a0#1 Daughter made this blanket for me close to 12 years ago as a Christmas present. \u00a0I swear this is the warmest blanket I’ve ever owned! \u00a0One side of it is faux fur~hence the name, “fuzzy blanket.” \u00a0Kali appreciates the fuzzy blanket as well. \u00a0Every night it is a battle as to who gets the fuzzy blanket. \u00a0One night, I most definitely lost! \u00a0She beat me to it and I didn’t have the heart to move her.<\/p>\n

Yesterday was the day after Thanksgiving and MFH let me know what my Christmas present was going to be. \u00a0He went into the kitchen and started ripping up the linoleum~that meant I will be getting my tile floor in the kitchen for Christmas! \u00a0*Happy Dance*<\/p>\n

We are planning on replacing the flooring in the house~hopefully by the end of 2016. \u00a0Flooring is a big project. \u00a0The tile we can do ourselves. \u00a0MFH is good at DIY stuff. \u00a0The Bamboo flooring we want in the rest of the house will have to be installed. \u00a0$$$<\/p>\n

This evening, MFH is at the Egg Bowl. \u00a0He scored a ticket from my sister and her husband. \u00a0Lucky man!!! \u00a0The Egg Bowl is a huge rivalry between Mississippi State University and Ole Miss. \u00a0Just so there is no question as to who I cheer for, let me say here and now: \u00a0HAIL STATE!!!<\/p>\n

He had his cowbell and drove off to cheer the Mississippi State Bulldogs to Victory!<\/p>\n

Seeing as MFH is gone for the evening, that meant it was Nutty Bar time for Paxton and myself. \u00a0Mmmm!!!<\/p>\n

This dog cracks me up!!! \u00a0Have you ever seen such a face!?! \u00a0Hahaha!!!<\/p>\n

This next week running is going to be a doozie. \u00a0I have an easy 6 tomorrow (Sunday) and an easy 10 on Monday. \u00a0Tuesday will be a rest day because Wednesday I have 24 miles to run and another 8 on Thursday before a rest day again on Friday. \u00a0Another 8 on Saturday to wrap up the week. \u00a0Whew! \u00a0I’m going to be a tired gal.<\/p>\n

Are you still with me? \u00a0Hahaha!!! \u00a0I need to blog more often or else I end up writing an epistle! \u00a0That’s pretty much it in a nutshell as to what has happened since we last chatted. \u00a0Oh! \u00a0I ordered MFH’s Christmas present and I’m DYING to tell somebody what it is…but I can’t. \u00a0He might find out. \u00a0Sad Panda. \u00a0I guess you’ll just have to wait, like he will, to find out! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
