I’m not going to dwell a lot on “Great People.” \u00a0I think I’ll probably end up popping around here and there today. \u00a0I needed a blog title and this is what we settled on.<\/p>\n

One week ago today, MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I made our marathon trip back to the States. \u00a0What a trip that was! \u00a0We were up waaaayyy more than 24 hours before we were finally able to sleep in the comforts of our own bed.<\/p>\n

It’s great to be home. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

When I mentioned great people, I was referring to the people in my neighborhood.<\/p>\n

I know in the past I’ve referenced the area in which I live. \u00a0Pretty much everybody in a 10 Mile radium of where I live has a pretty good idea of my racing schedule and depending on where they pass me on the roads, they know what route I’m taking for that day’s run. \u00a0Funny that.<\/p>\n

Since our arrival midnight Wednesday (Or Thursday early morning. \u00a0Take your pick), three times now I’ve had people stop their vehicle in the middle of the road and ask about Berlin.<\/p>\n

Isn’t that the sweetest!?!<\/p>\n

One was a lady who goes to our church. \u00a0She lives about a mile away from us.<\/p>\n

The other was our neighbor to the west. \u00a0He owns his own trucking business. \u00a0He stopped his truck smack dab in the middle of the road to ask about the trip. \u00a0He told me later that he thought about me on race day and prayed for me. \u00a0What a nice guy!<\/p>\n

Today it was the trash collectors! \u00a0Yup! \u00a0That big ol’ garbage truck came to a screeching halt and the “guys” asked about the race and welcomed me home.<\/p>\n

I love where I live!!! \u00a0Everybody looks out for everybody. \u00a0For the most part, we generally care, too!<\/p>\n

That’s what I meant by “Great People.” \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I think we’re settling back into “normal” life again. It’s very, very nice to be home. \u00a0We had the time of our lives in Germany. \u00a0It was the trip of our dreams! \u00a0Soooo glad we went. \u00a0I don’t think there is any way anyone or anything could top that trip.<\/p>\n

Now we’re home. Time to take another look at racing plans for 2016. \u00a0We’re making some changes.<\/p>\n

I’m a Race Ambassador for the Mississippi Blues Marathon. \u00a0http:\/\/www.msbluesmarathon.com\/ \u00a0That is THE race to run in Mississippi. \u00a0It doesn’t get any better than the Blues. \u00a0It is an honor to be an Ambassador for this event. \u00a0(*BTW: \u00a0If you’re thinking about running the Blues, I have a $10 discount code for registration: \u00a0MHMBM19 \u00a0Feel free to use it and\/or pass it around to friends! ) \u00a0So, on January 9, 2016, I’ll be running the full at the Blues in Jackson, Mississippi. \u00a0*#1 Son will be running the Half Marathon at the Blues as well. \u00a0This will be his first Half Marathon! \u00a0Gooooo!!!!!<\/p>\n

I am registered for the Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach, California, for February 7, 2016. \u00a0http:\/\/www.runsurfcity.com\/challenge-programs\/beach-cities-challenge\/. \u00a0Last night MFH and I had a chat about this event. \u00a0Today, I bowed out of this race. \u00a0I’ve paid my registration, so I’ll eat that expense but airfare and all…it’s just too much right now. \u00a0So my February is race free.<\/p>\n

March 5, 2016, I’ll be racing at the MS50 Trail Run in Laurel, Mississippi.\u00a0http:\/\/www.ms50.com\/. \u00a0I’ll be running the 50 Mile in 2016. \u00a0This year, I ran the 50K segment of this race. \u00a0Super. Fun. Event. \u00a0Now that I’m familiar with the course, I’m going back to run the 50 Mile! \u00a0Excited about this one!<\/p>\n

April Fools Day weekend, I’ll be driving (with a Mississippi running friend) to Austin, Texas. \u00a0They have a super 10 Mile race called the Austin 10\/20 http:\/\/www.austin1020.com\/. \u00a0I’m really looking forward to this race. I will get to stay with a FB friend. \u00a0We chat a lot online but have never met her IRL. \u00a0This is going to be fun!<\/p>\n

May. \u00a0Right now my sister wants to go to Corinth, Mississippi, for the Coke 10K. \u00a0This will be the third year in a row we’ve gone up north for this race. \u00a0Registration isn’t open quite yet….<\/p>\n

June. \u00a0In June I’ll be heading to Duluth, Minnesota, for Grandma’s Marathon! \u00a0http:\/\/grandmasmarathon.com\/ \u00a0I’ll be traveling again with my Mississippi running friend. \u00a0We’re planning on going into Canada a bit, making a proper little trip out of this…and running a tiny race. \u00a0\ud83d\ude09 \u00a0Lots of fun!<\/p>\n

That’s it until fall. \u00a0I’ll be putting my name in the hat again (AGAIN!) for the New York City Marathon. \u00a0This will be my third attempt at trying to get into this race. \u00a0It is soooo hard to get into NYC! \u00a0I’ll just keep on trying until some year I get lucky!<\/p>\n

All of that to say, I’m shopping for a fall marathon. \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n

That is my racing schedule as it stands for 2016. \u00a0I think it’s comfortably full, don’t you?<\/p>\n

Crossed the 1800 mile mark for this calendar year today. \u00a0My Year to date total stands at 1809.32 miles. \u00a0Less than 200 miles to reach 2015 in 2015. \u00a0Keep those fingers crossed!!!<\/p>\n
