We made it to Berlin and we are super tired! \u00a0Hahaha!!! \u00a0I’ll try to catch you up to date with what all’s happened. \u00a0If this isn’t coherent, my apologies. \u00a0I need some sleep. \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n

We left Birmingham, Alabama for the airport at 5:00 am Tuesday. \u00a0By the time we landed in Berlin, Germany, this morning, we had been traveling 19 hours. Who knew sitting could wear you out like this!?!<\/p>\n

But, boy~is it worth it!!!<\/p>\n

This is my at early o’clock in Birmingham, waiting to board the plane for our first leg to Chicago.<\/p>\n

We landed in Chicago. \u00a0We had to scoot to get to our connecting flight. \u00a0We were super glad to get out of that first flight. \u00a0I was on the isle. \u00a0It was a “puddle jumper” so the lady sitting across from me was barely a foot away and she was hacking up a lung the whole time. \u00a0Ugh!<\/p>\n

We landed in Chicago and hustled to our next gate. \u00a0We were able to stop for a Panini before we took off. \u00a0YAY for food!<\/p>\n

The leg from Chicago to Newark, was longer and a roomier plane. \u00a0We watched a movie on this flight. \u00a0There wasn’t anybody coughing like crazy to it was a relaxing time.<\/p>\n

Once we arrived at Newark, we had a bit more wiggle room so we stopped at a beer garden where I found a tasty porter and MFH (My Favorite Husband) bought some of those big, soft, warm pretzels. \u00a0We hopped on the plane for the last leg of the trip. \u00a0This was going to be the loooong leg. \u00a0This was a large airplane and we had a bit more legroom (not that I need legroom, mind you, but it was nice for MFH).<\/p>\n

After 19 hours, we landed in Berlin. \u00a0We had been served dinner on the flight. \u00a0That was nice. \u00a0We breezed through customs. \u00a0Got a new stamp in my passport and was welcomed to Germany…in German! \u00a0HA! \u00a0*go figure*<\/p>\n

After some language barrier mishaps, we finally arrived at the correct hotel. \u00a0We had a super nice taxi driver who took us to the wrong hotel. \u00a0Oops! \u00a0No worries. \u00a0We got it all figured out. \u00a0We have a nice room. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

After a quick nap, we went to the Berlin Zoo. \u00a0Took the subway to get to the zoo and walked around. \u00a0It’s a nice zoo!<\/p>\n

We watched the elephants being put to bed. They were “scrubbed down” with large utility brooms to get all the dirt off of their backs from the day. They loved it! Funny, that. The black panther was beautiful! The little cat was the cutest little kitty! I bet it’d take my hand off if given the opportunity, though. This was the first time I’d been to a zoo since my daughter was a baby. She’ll be 28 in January.<\/p>\n

That’s all the news for now. \u00a0It’s 7:30 pm here in Berlin. \u00a0That means it’s only about 1:30 pm at home but it’s time to call it a day. \u00a0A Very. Big. Day.<\/p>\n
