Paxton: \u00a0My hero.<\/p>\n

That statement may or may not have been said deadpan. \u00a0It may have been said dripping with sarcasm. \u00a0It may have been heartfelt. \u00a0It may have been all three.<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) has been doing a LOT of traveling this summer. \u00a0They hired a new guy so the company has been flying him back and forth: \u00a0Mississippi to Colorado and back to Mississippi, pretty much every other week since May. \u00a0It’s made for a long summer.<\/p>\n

MFH and I, well, we are stuck in our ways. \u00a0We have our little comfort zone and being together, day in and day out, is a very large part of that comfort zone. \u00a0What I am trying to say is, we like being together. \u00a0We do NOT like NOT being together.<\/p>\n

A little bit of travel is okay. \u00a0And expected.<\/p>\n

A lot of travel isn’t cool.<\/p>\n

Not in the least.<\/p>\n

With MFH being gone so much, Paxton has become the man of the house. \u00a0Heaven help us all! \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n

Paxton, my hero, hides in the hall bathroom at the first crack of thunder.<\/p>\n

Paxton, my hero, announces the arrival of the newspaper guy. \u00a0The mailman. \u00a0The Fed-Ex guy. \u00a0The UPS guy. \u00a0In those instances, I am very happy to have him!<\/p>\n

Paxton, for all of his Paxton-ish-ness, it a great dog.<\/p>\n

Since he has stepped up his game over the summer, he has been given a bit more freedom outdoors.<\/p>\n

When he has been let out before, he was always on a zip line. \u00a0We had to install one because when he was younger, he liked to go visit the neighbors. \u00a0One neighbor in particular…well, Paxton scared her to death. \u00a0In his exuberance, he greeted her all wiggly…well, 130 lb Boxer wiggling all around you? \u00a0Yea, I could see where that would be a little intimidating. \u00a0So, we installed the zip line. \u00a0Paxton couldn’t go visiting unannounced anymore.<\/p>\n

He doesn’t wander that far anymore. \u00a0He’s getting older. \u00a0He’s matured AND he’s too fat to go that far. \u00a0HA! \u00a0He kinda comes when called now. \u00a0He’s a good boy.<\/p>\n

As I was saying, he has a little bit more freedom. \u00a0He goes outdoors with us now and enjoys all areas of our 2 acres. \u00a0He likes to sit in the grass and check things out. \u00a0He wants people to know that this is HIS property. \u00a0Don’t mess with it.<\/p>\n

Good boy, Paxton<\/p>\n

Paxton is the epitome of Valor and Bravery.<\/p>\n
