OMG, y’all!!! \u00a0What an afternoon! \u00a0Here’s the story:<\/p>\n

A little while back, I received an email from the Mississippi Blues Marathon inviting me to apply to be a Race Ambassador for their 2016 event. \u00a0Now, I know that they didn’t single me out specifically but still, it was nice and I applied. \u00a0Then I promptly forgot about it.<\/p>\n

I do things like that. \u00a0Forget, I mean.<\/p>\n

I have learned not to get up my hopes on things. \u00a0Especially the NYC Marathon lottery. I’ve tried the last two years in a row and they STILL have not let me in their race…but that’s a totally different story.<\/p>\n

Anyway, I drove to Starkville, Mississippi, early this afternoon to pick up my mom for a trip to Walmart. \u00a0While I was waiting on my mom, my phone blipped. \u00a0I glanced down and saw that it was an email from the Mississippi Blues Marathon coming in.<\/p>\n

I wondered, ?????<\/p>\n

So, while mom was finishing up, I opened the email.<\/p>\n

“You’re receiving this email because we’ve selected you to be part of our new Blue Crew, supporting and promoting the Mississippi Blues Marathon!…..”<\/p>\n

Now, you’ve probably picked up on the fact that I get just a tad excited about stuff. \u00a0Just a tad. \u00a0I want you to know, I tried very, very hard to maintain my composure. \u00a0Seriously! \u00a0What I really wanted to do was do a happy dance and shout for joy!!! \u00a0Woo-Hoo!!! \u00a0 Sqquuueeee!!!!!<\/p>\n

My mom was very kind. \u00a0“That’s nice. \u00a0Good for you.” kind of stuff. \u00a0That was nice. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

We went to Walmart and shopped. \u00a0Got back to their house and chatted for a bit. \u00a0I was dying to go home and get online and post about the Mississippi Blues. \u00a0It was killing me!!! \u00a0Hahaha!<\/p>\n

Towards the end of my visit, my phone rang. \u00a0It was my running buddy, Bonnie!<\/p>\n

I was trying to figure out why in the world she was calling me. \u00a0I answered the phone.<\/p>\n

“Girl! \u00a0Did you check your email!?!” \u00a0she yelled into the phone.<\/p>\n

Immediately I knew she was a Race Ambassador, too! \u00a0She gets as excited as I do. \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n

I yelled back into the phone, “You got it, too!!! \u00a0YAY!!!”<\/p>\n

Hahaha!!!! \u00a0Any resemblance of acting mature, composed…anything, flew out the window! \u00a0It was soooo bad! \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n

Bonnie and I were both yelling into the phone because we were both so excited! \u00a0I cannot tell you how strange that must’ve looked to my parents.<\/p>\n

Funny stuff!!!<\/p>\n

I got home, put Paxton out and then parked myself firmly in front of my laptop and posted to my little hearts delight. \u00a0Then I got on Instagram. \u00a0Then back to FB because I thought of a few places I had missed. \u00a0Then to MFP. \u00a0I’m really rather pathetic!<\/p>\n

So, now here I am telling you about it, too!<\/p>\n

The Mississippi Blues Marathon held the applications to be a Race Ambassador for the entire country and only selected 20 runners. \u00a0This truly is an honor and I am humbled (and excited).<\/p>\n

I think I’m pretty calm about the whole thing. Don’t you? \u00a0\ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n
