MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I are in the market for a new (read: used) car.<\/p>\n
We have been driving a 2010 Honda Accord. \u00a0We purchased our Honda in 2012(?). \u00a0I think that’s right. \u00a0From the day we bought that car, any drive over an hour in length, it has made my butt hurt.<\/p>\n
There’s just no other way to say it! \u00a0If we drive for over an hour, I get incredibly uncomfortable! \u00a0I shift my weight. \u00a0Sit on car cushions. \u00a0Take Advil. \u00a0We’ve tried everything. \u00a0No matter what we do, when we travel, I hurt.<\/p>\n
We’ve tried having me drive more. \u00a0The floor of this car kinda curves where the accelerator is located. \u00a0When my foot is down by the gas pedal, it twists my knee a little bit and my knee screams at me. \u00a0I end up with pain going all the way up my leg.<\/p>\n
This car sucks.<\/p>\n
It is reliable! \u00a0Great gas mileage! \u00a0Everything about it is great…except I cannot travel in it.<\/p>\n
Soooooo….<\/p>\n
We have started looking to replace the Honda.<\/p>\n
After doing a bit of research, we discovered that from 2010(?)-2014(?), Honda and a few other car companies used the same nasty car seats and a LOT of people were complaining about the same problems I have been experiencing. \u00a0Makes one wonder, doesn’t it?<\/p>\n
We decided to look at previously owned “luxury” sedans. \u00a0We have been shopping around looking at Lexus and Genesis.<\/p>\n
We went to the Genesis dealer two weeks ago. \u00a0They had one used Genesis. \u00a0We wanted to do a “sit test” in these two cars specifically. \u00a0The Genesis guy was cool.<\/p>\n
“Sure! \u00a0You can sit in the car.” \u00a0He let me. \u00a0We test drove it. \u00a0NICE!!! \u00a0The only drawback was this particular car has a HUGE engine (that means it sucks gas in a big way). \u00a0They come in a smaller engine but the previous owner had requested the big engine. \u00a0Boo. We really liked it, though. \u00a0VERY COMFY SEATS!!!<\/p>\n
We went to look at a Lexus.<\/p>\n
Same day. \u00a0Same clothes. \u00a0We hadn’t changed a thing in our appearance.<\/p>\n
We pulled into the Lexus place and hopped out of the Honda to kick some tires.<\/p>\n
The salesman pounced.<\/p>\n
He looked at us and announced, “I don’t want to be ‘that guy,’ but I think a Lexus would be out of your price range.”<\/p>\n
HELLO!?!<\/p>\n
We hadn’t mentioned price, our income…nothing! \u00a0He had judged us on our appearance alone. \u00a0We kinda poo-pooed him and asked to let me sit in the Lexus.<\/p>\n
This guy made a big production about going to the office to get the key. \u00a0Then he comes down to where we were still waiting (in the hot Mississippi sunshine, thank you). \u00a0He unlocks the car and then asks me to wait. \u00a0He wanted to pull the car out so I wouldn’t ding the car door against another car.<\/p>\n
#Insulted<\/p>\n
These cars were parked so that there was almost room for another car to be parked between them. \u00a0There was NO WAY you could ding the car doors even if you tried!!!<\/p>\n

He finally let me sit in the car. \u00a0It was nice but I liked the Genesis better. \u00a0He finally “allowed” us to test drive a Ford Focus (#fail). \u00a0I wouldn’t buy a car from this guy if he was the last car salesperson alive. \u00a0I would go and buy a horse first.<\/p>\n
All that aside, we ARE on the lookout to replace our Honda Accord. \u00a0Haha!!! \u00a0We just won’t be buying from that guy. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
