I’m not the sentimental type. \u00a0Never have been.<\/p>\n
I know people who anticipate Hallmark Holiday’s like nobody’s business. They attempt to lay a pretty heavy guilt trip on others who don’t make such a big “hurrah” out of the same such “holiday.” \u00a0I don’t like being bullied into buying stuff out of guilt.<\/p>\n
Probably, I need to change my perspective on how I view these holiday’s. \u00a0Quite honestly, I’ve never tried to change how I look at them. \u00a0I realize that to some people they are very important~~~I dunno. \u00a0They just seem like a pseudo-holiday to me.<\/p>\n
Yesterday was a great Mother’s Day! \u00a0Seeing as we don’t make a big deal out of it, I had a lovely day.<\/p>\n
My day began with MFH (My Favorite Husband) making pancakes. \u00a0He does this every Sunday~has almost every Sunday in the close to 30 years we’ve been married. \u00a0Lately, he’s been getting them ready a bit earlier due to the fact that our weather is getting toasty and I need to head out and grab my miles (run) before church and not overheat in the process.<\/p>\n
I ran 8.50 miles yesterday morning and then we went to church.<\/p>\n
Still sticking to the same Sunday routine.<\/p>\n
After church, we hit Jimmy John’s for lunch. \u00a0Again, still the same.<\/p>\n
After Jimmy John’s, we changed our Sunday routine. \u00a0We drove across the highway to Walmart and bought groceries! \u00a0Woo-Hoo!!!<\/p>\n
We came home from Walmart. \u00a0MFH carried in the groceries and I put them away. \u00a0Back to routine here.<\/p>\n
Now, things got very exciting! \u00a0We pulled internet cable through the attic!!! \u00a0How many of you lucky mom’s got to do that on Mother’s Day!?!<\/p>\n
Haha! \u00a0We know how to live it up at our house. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
Now, this may seem like a silly\/strange thing to say, but this is real life at our house. \u00a0Enjoying each other’s company and working together. \u00a0I don’t need flowers or cards or any of the other fancy schmancy stuff that Hallmark tries to sell. \u00a0I have the unwavering love of my husband and a quick, “obligatory” phone call from each of my children.<\/p>\n
“Hi, mom. \u00a0Happy Mother’s Day. \u00a0 Love you. \u00a0Bye.”<\/p>\n
