{"id":3041,"date":"2015-04-08T16:41:20","date_gmt":"2015-04-08T21:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=3041"},"modified":"2015-04-08T16:41:20","modified_gmt":"2015-04-08T21:41:20","slug":"my-john-deere-z425","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=3041","title":{"rendered":"My John Deere Z425"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I love my mower. \u00a0I really, really do.<\/p>\n<p>My mower is a snazzy mower. \u00a0It is a JD Z425. \u00a0This thing is sweet and I drive it hard.<\/p>\n<p>In the peak mowing months, you will find me out on that JD cutting the grass on my 2 acres twice a week. \u00a0The grass grows long and it grows fast. \u00a0I&#8217;ll be zipping back and forth at a pretty good clip. \u00a0The summer months get pretty toasty in Mississippi and the breeze from the mower feels good.<\/p>\n<p>This winter and spring has been especially wet. \u00a0And cold. \u00a0Normally, I beginning mowing early to mid February but this year, I didn&#8217;t begin mowing until the very end of March. \u00a0That March mowing was just a spot check. \u00a0There were a few places that were getting shaggy but the rest of the property was just fine.<\/p>\n<p>Last Wednesday, though, I mowed every inch of our 2 acres. \u00a0It needed it. \u00a0It felt good to be out on that mower. \u00a0Just making pass after pass. \u00a0Keeping the passes ram rod straight. \u00a0Lost in my thoughts. \u00a0Not a care in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Loved every single minute!<\/p>\n<p>It has rained almost every day since I mowed last Wednesday and the grass has exploded! \u00a0Time to mow again. \u00a0Yesterday, we only got some sprinkles. \u00a0Today. \u00a0Sunshine. \u00a0Tomorrow and Friday. \u00a0Rain. \u00a0Saturday sunshine then two more days of rain.<\/p>\n<p>If I was going to mow, it had to be today.<\/p>\n<p>Out I went.<\/p>\n<p>Now, I have put that mower through its paces many a time but today I really made it work.<\/p>\n<p>We have poor drainage on our property. \u00a0Our 2 acres is mostly a heavy clay and it gets thick and mucky when wet. \u00a0We had lots of standing water in places where we usually don&#8217;t. \u00a0I noticed that there were aquatic plants growing! \u00a0This had to stop.<\/p>\n<p>So, today, I discovered that my good old John Deer could also double as a Swamp Buggy!<\/p>\n<p>That wonderful mower plunged into the standing water and fought through the sticky mud without skipping a beat. \u00a0My rows were still ram rod straight. \u00a0Granted, they were muddy ram rod straight but I&#8217;m telling you, that mower didn&#8217;t care.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully, the yard will dry out by August, maybe? \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s activities: \u00a0Run 10.00 miles. \u00a0 Mowing 2.5 hours.<\/p>\n<p>This is a Swamp Buggy not my mower.
