That equals 10 miles. \u00a0On. The. Button.<\/p>\n<p>Things have a was of changing mid run and today was one of those days when plans were changed.<\/p>\n<p>See, when I run Schaeffer&#8217;s Chapel, I go north on Robinson and turn around in the MB Church parking lot and then go south on the same road~~~all the way to hwy 45S. \u00a0I run along hwy 45S for close to .75 of a mile before I cross the 4 land hwy onto Schaeffer&#8217;s Chapel Road. \u00a0I run to the Chapel and then retrace my steps. \u00a0I run past the MB church and then back to Schaffer&#8217;s Chapel&#8230;blah, blah, blah&#8230;..<\/p>\n<p>Today, after my second turn around at the MB Church, I met the cutest little old lady crossing the street to her mailbox. \u00a0I mean, this lady is adorable! \u00a0She is 94 years old. \u00a0She was crossing this old country road with her walker&#8230;complete with the tennis balls on the legs. \u00a0She is bent over with age and is as feisty as they come.<\/p>\n<p>I have seen her many times, of course, but today was the first time we were within talking distance. \u00a0You know, the distance where it would be very awkward if we ignored each other.<\/p>\n<p>After a &#8220;Good morning!&#8221; from me, she stopped right smack dab in the middle of the road and started in with,<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I see you running up and down my road every. single. day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yes, Ma&#8217;am. \u00a0I&#8217;m training for a race.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;What race are you running?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>With that we were off chatting for close to a good half of an hour.<\/p>\n<p>I complimented her on her flowers and told her that I had stopped a few days ago and taken some pics of them. \u00a0I hope she didn&#8217;t mind.<\/p>\n<p>She was very pleased about the pics and that I enjoy her flowers but was appalled at the condition of her flower bed. \u00a0&#8220;Too overgrown&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>THAT got her going on her Okra seeds.<\/p>\n<p>Apparently, she has had people stopping by her house wanting some of her Okra seeds and she has been turning them down. \u00a0These Okra seeds have been handed down in her family for 140 years and she wasn&#8217;t going to be handing them out to strangers.<\/p>\n<p>140 year old seeds. \u00a0Boggles the mind.<\/p>\n<p>Now, these aren&#8217;t your average Okra seeds. \u00a0These seeds produce SMOOTH Okra pods. \u00a0&#8220;Not those tough Okra pods you buy in the stores these days.&#8221; \u00a0Good to know! \u00a0I thought Okra was Okra was Okra.<\/p>\n<p>She was extolling the virtues of her Okra seeds. \u00a0Made Okra sound delicious! \u00a0She was not going to be handing me any of those seeds. \u00a0There was no doubt in my mind at all of that ever happening. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>What a lovely break in my morning run. \u00a0She was so much fun to chat with. \u00a0The time flew by so fast that the next thing I knew, it was almost time for lunch! \u00a0I was out of time for my run and I had to hightail it home.<\/p>\n<p>We bid each other goodbye. \u00a0She finished her shuffle to her mail box and I made a beeline for home.<\/p>\n<p>So, no. \u00a0I did not get my 10 miles in this morning. \u00a0I got 7.20 miles.<\/p>\n<p>#TimeWellSpent<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This morning&#8217;s plan was to grab another 10 miles. \u00a0I headed on out the door with every intention of doing just that.
