First off: \u00a0Crawfish.<\/p>\n

We have a nice little BBQ place a couple of miles from our house. \u00a0We affectionately call the place Bob’s Country Bunker.<\/p>\n

Every spring, Bob’s Country Bunker serves Crawfish for about a month. \u00a0I really look forward to Crawfish season! \u00a0Those things are so tasty. \u00a0The first year we lived here, they began serving them the Thursday after my birthday. \u00a0My birthday is 2-20. \u00a0That was the earliest we have seen them putting Crawfish on the menu. \u00a0They only keep them on the menu about a month.<\/p>\n

The next year, they put them on the menu the beginning of March. \u00a0The following year, the end of March and they only carried them for a few weeks. \u00a0This year?<\/p>\n

Well, I have been watching the sign in front of their store. \u00a0They usually have a countdown on the board to how many days until Crawfish will be on the menu. \u00a0Today is April 4th and so far, nada.<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I were in Bob’s Country Bunker a few weeks ago for dinner and I asked when they were going to start serving the Crawfish. \u00a0The lady hesitated\/hemmed and hawed and finally said, “We don’t think we’ll be serving Crawfish this year.”<\/p>\n

Boo.<\/p>\n

So…<\/p>\n

I’ve been keeping my eyes open for a new place to get some Crawfish.<\/p>\n

I only get ONE meal of Crawfish each year. \u00a0I love it but it’s kinda pricey. \u00a0Last year, my meal at Bob’s was $7.00 lb. \u00a0I order two pounds. \u00a0A lot of people start with 5 pounds! \u00a0Seeing as you only eat the tails, that’s not a lot of food but it sure is tasty!<\/p>\n

Finally, I found a place near West Point, Mississippi, that served it. \u00a0Today, after running group, MFH and I stopped. \u00a0We were starved and that sounded perfect! \u00a0I ordered my 2 pounds of Crawfish (at $5.50 pound) and sat in the car and ate to my little hearts delight! \u00a0It was delicious!!! \u00a0I’m still smiling! \u00a0 #HappyTummy<\/p>\n

I just mentioned running group. \u00a0I am afraid I have been delinquent in attending running group. \u00a0Thinking back, I don’t thing I’ve been there since the end of January or beginning of February.<\/p>\n

With all of the heavy training I’ve been doing for the Marathon and then the Ultra Marathon, I’ve been pooped! \u00a0Getting up early on a Saturday morning and then driving for 30 miles to run 6 or 7 miles? \u00a0It was, quite frankly, a little bit too much for this kid. \u00a0I’ve been sleeping in on Saturday’s and then running later in the morning.<\/p>\n

Call me a sissy.<\/p>\n

So, this morning, MFH and I hopped in the car and took off for running group. \u00a0It was so much fun! \u00a0I had really missed all the awesome people that gather there early (6:15 am) on Saturday mornings.<\/p>\n

MFH and I ran to the first water stop and back. \u00a0The entire course this morning was a little over 11 miles. \u00a0We ended up running 7.38 (that .38 of a mile is very important!). \u00a0It was a very pretty morning here in Mississippi. \u00a0There was a stiff north wind but other than that, no complaints whatsoever.<\/p>\n

I was a little bit ahead of MFH so I stopped and took his pic. \u00a0HA! \u00a0That’ll teach him to let me run in front of him! \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
