To prove to the Armadillo that it could be done! \u00a0At least that is the answer you will get if you live in the Southeastern part of the United States.<\/p>\n
I mowed today. \u00a0For real! \u00a0We haven’t had any significant rain for almost an entire week. \u00a0I had tried to mow last week but had been bogged down in the mud. \u00a0It was a mess and I gave it up for a lost cause.<\/p>\n
This morning when I set out for my 7 miler, I was checking the condition of the yard. \u00a0The grass, in some places, was knee high on me. \u00a0Unreal. \u00a0It looked like most of the mud had dried enough that I would be able to get out the mower again and give it another shot.<\/p>\n
Seeing as I had slept in this morning (Oops!), I was running very far behind schedule. \u00a0I didn’t begin my run until almost 9:30 am. \u00a0I ran my 7 miles, came home and started lunch (we eat early).<\/p>\n
After lunch, MFH (My Favorite Husband) had a conference call. \u00a0While he was on his conference call, I downloaded my Garmin and logged my miles online. \u00a0Once MFH was off his call, he went and bought gas for the mower while I got the mower out of the garage (easier said than done).<\/p>\n
FINALLY, I started mowing.<\/p>\n
I started on the West side of our property. \u00a0I had two acres to mow. \u00a0The neighbors on the West had mowed a few days ago, so I just picked up where they left off. \u00a0Easy Peasy.<\/p>\n
As I was going along, though, I started noticing all the little divots in the grass. \u00a0Hmmm…<\/p>\n
I was suspicious.<\/p>\n
The divots became more and more frequent.<\/p>\n
Yup. \u00a0We had an Armadillo on our property.<\/p>\n
For the last couple of weeks, I had been seeing evidence of places where Armadillos had tried to cross the road. \u00a0And failed. \u00a0So I wasn’t too surprised to see they had been in my yard.<\/p>\n
I don’t have a clue how to get rid of them. \u00a0I think they just get bored at our place and eventually move on. \u00a0Until then, I will be mowing over divots….<\/p>\n
