Poor Paxton is under the weather. He has been laying around like a lump of puppy for a few days. \u00a0He has also not been eating.<\/p>\n

Seeing as Paxton is packing a few extra pounds, I wasn’t really all that concerned with him not eating quite as much as he used to but when he quit drinking any water as of last night, well, that wasn’t good. \u00a0So, we headed off for the vet today.<\/p>\n

Before we left for the vet’s office, I had tempted Paxton with all his favorite foods. \u00a0Nothing doing. \u00a0I had filled his water dish with fresh, cool water last night and he hasn’t touched it.<\/p>\n

This is so unlike him!!! \u00a0He usually eats and especially drinks non-stop! \u00a0I was getting worried.<\/p>\n

When I have taken Paxton to the vet on previous visits, MFH (My Favorite Husband) has come along to help. \u00a0Paxton is….exuberant. \u00a0AND he outweighs me by 20 pounds. \u00a0At home, I can easily control him because, well, we are at home! \u00a0When we go someplace new and he is excited, I need all the help I can get.<\/p>\n

Today, I did not need any extra help.<\/p>\n

See? \u00a0I told you he was sick!<\/p>\n

The vet took Paxton’s temp. \u00a0I straddled Paxton while the vet took his temp. \u00a0Paxton HATES getting his temp taken. \u00a0By straddling him, I can talk to him and pat his chest. \u00a0This calms him while the vet does whatever it is he does.<\/p>\n

Paxton’s temp was 105*. \u00a0This is high. \u00a0Poor puppy!!!<\/p>\n

The vet left to get a shot and some pills.<\/p>\n

When he came back into the room, the vet gave Paxton his shot and handed me some antibiotic pills. \u00a0Paxton gets one pill twice a day for seven days. \u00a0However, if Paxton is not showing improvement by Wednesday, I am supposed to bring him back in. \u00a0Otherwise, I can wait to take him in next Monday.<\/p>\n

That is the news on Paxton’s trip to the vet. \u00a0I took a pic of him while we were waiting for the vet. \u00a0Usually, Paxton is poking his puppy nose into every nook and cranny of the room. \u00a0Here, he is laying down. \u00a0This is very out of character.<\/p>\n

Feel better, Paxton!<\/p>\n
