{"id":2963,"date":"2015-03-11T13:35:01","date_gmt":"2015-03-11T18:35:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2963"},"modified":"2015-03-11T13:35:01","modified_gmt":"2015-03-11T18:35:01","slug":"pewie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2963","title":{"rendered":"Pewie!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been four day&#8217;s since Saturday&#8217;s race. \u00a0During those four days, I have been recovering from being sick and from running. \u00a0Yesterday, I did my first post race run.<\/p>\n<p>I managed 4.5 miles yesterday morning. \u00a0That was, I think, the most difficult 4.5 miles I have ever run in my life. \u00a0Holy Cow~~~that was painful!!!<\/p>\n<p>The first run after a challenging race always hurts like the dickens. \u00a0There&#8217;s no way around it. \u00a0It just flat out hurts. \u00a0I think maybe that&#8217;s why I tend to get it out of the way ASAP. \u00a0Got it done and now I feel better.<\/p>\n<p>Today, it was time for a longer run. \u00a0I thought that 8 sounded like a nice number. \u00a0I bounded out the door with the intent of running to Schaeffer&#8217;s Chapel and tossing a few little corners in here and there to equal the 8 mile distance I wanted.<\/p>\n<p>Things were going great! \u00a0I had close to 4 miles under my belt. \u00a0Once I ran to Schaeffer&#8217;s Chapel and back to the house, that would give me my 8. \u00a0Easy Peasy.<\/p>\n<p>I ran down Robinson Road towards the part of Hwy 45S that is still being repaired. \u00a0I planned on running the West side of the Hwy until I reached the place where I could cross the Hwy and head over to the Chapel.<\/p>\n<p>As I was running along the Hwy, enjoying the warm weather, all of a sudden this stench filled the air.<\/p>\n<p>SKUNK!!!<\/p>\n<p>Oh No!!! \u00a0A car had just hit a skunk right across the highway from where I was running. \u00a0There was no getting away from it~~~I just had to keep going.<\/p>\n<p>My eyes were watering and I could TASTE IT!!!<\/p>\n<p>It was terrible!<\/p>\n<p>I ran as fast as I could to get away from that terrible, fresh smell of mushed skunk.<\/p>\n<p>When I got home, I stripped off my running clothes and showered.<\/p>\n<p>MFH (My Favorite Husband) hasn&#8217;t said anything to me about smelling bad so maybe I escaped to worst of it?<\/p>\n<p>Holy Cow! \u00a0What a run!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?attachment_id=2965\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2965\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2965\" alt=\"200352420-001\" src=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/SprayingSkunk200352420-001.jpg\" width=\"385\" height=\"256\" srcset=\"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/SprayingSkunk200352420-001.jpg 385w, http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/SprayingSkunk200352420-001-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 385px) 100vw, 385px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s been four day&#8217;s since Saturday&#8217;s race. \u00a0During those four days, I have been recovering from being sick and from running. \u00a0Yesterday, I did my first post race run.
