Yes. \u00a0I signed up for another race.<\/p>\n
I need my head examined.<\/p>\n
See, a couple of weeks ago, my running buddy (remember, I blogged about her a couple of months back) asked me to run a Half Marathon with her on March 28th. \u00a0She already has lodging and said she wanted me to go to keep her company and run with her. \u00a0I wouldn’t have to pay lodging\/gas (even though I will), just go along for some fun.<\/p>\n
I was going to pass.<\/p>\n
Then, on the main RunJunkEes page, a very prominent runner in Mississippi and another Mississippi runner friend of mine were trying to talk me into running this same race. \u00a0The prominent runner has a company that is also one of the sponsors for this Half Marathon.<\/p>\n
I needed to rethink this.<\/p>\n
So, I thought.<\/p>\n
I asked around a few places. \u00a0Trying to get a feel as to if this would be too much of a stretch for me.<\/p>\n
If I ran this race, that would mean I had run a Marathon, a 50K and then this Half Marathon all within a 6 week period.<\/p>\n
That’s a lot of racing.<\/p>\n
To a person (including that guy who wrote the training program I am presently following) I was told that I would be fine! \u00a0I would be running that distance again by that time anyway, might as well go and have some fun doing it.<\/p>\n
So, I signed up.<\/p>\n
My racing schedule now looks like this:<\/p>\n
Feb 14: \u00a0Mississippi River Marathon~~~Greenville, Mississippi<\/p>\n
March 7: \u00a0Mississippi 50 Trail Run (50K)~~~ Laurel, Mississippi<\/p>\n
March 28: \u00a0Viking Half Marathon~~~Greenwood, Mississippi<\/p>\n
September 27: \u00a0Berlin Marathon~~~Berlin, Germany<\/p>\n
My name is in the hat for the NYC Marathon but the odds are definitely NOT in my favor for that race. \u00a0I just had to put my name in the hat or else I would have gone bonkers wondering if I could have gotten into that race. \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42 \u00a0 And anyway, NYC isn’t until November 1st. \u00a0I’d still have plenty of time to recover from Berlin and get ready for NYC! \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n
That’s what’s pending on the racing front these days. \u00a0Tomorrow, I should reach the 200 mile mark for miles run in 2015. \u00a0I am behind schedule. \u00a0What with last weeks trip to Colorado and the entire month of February being one big taper, I will have my work cut out for me to catch up here in the next couple of months.<\/p>\n
I like a good challenge.<\/p>\n
