This has been a very. long. day.<\/p>\n
MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I were up at 3:00 am and on the road by 4:00 am. \u00a0We just pulled into our hotel an hour ago. \u00a014 solid hours of driving. \u00a0We are both very, very tired.<\/p>\n
We traveled from the Front Range of Colorado under cloudy skies. \u00a0When we reached Kansas, it started raining. \u00a0It hasn’t stopped since. \u00a0Part of the time, around Hays, Kansas, it was a rain\/snow combination. \u00a0We drove out of that stuff in about an hour so it wasn’t too bad.<\/p>\n
Kansas takes FOREVER to get through! \u00a0Oh My Goodness but Kansas is a big state! \u00a0Finally, we entered Oklahoma and stopped at the first rest area we came to.<\/p>\n
Oklahoma has very nice rest areas!<\/p>\n
While MFH was using the “facilities,” I was chatting with the cute little old lady working the rest area. \u00a0I was asking her about accommodations in the Tulsa area.<\/p>\n
She was johnny on the spot! \u00a0She had a handy, dandy map that showed each and every hotel, motel, B&B~everything in the Tulsa metropolitan area. \u00a0Pretty cool!<\/p>\n
I thanked her for her help and MFH and I went back to the car.<\/p>\n
Thank God for cell phones!!!<\/p>\n
I started looking up hotel reviews on my phone and then started finding “deals” on hotels. \u00a0I found us a Hilton in Tulsa…cheap!<\/p>\n
Cool Beans!!!<\/p>\n
I made our reservation and plugged the Hilton address into Google maps and we were off.<\/p>\n
When we arrived, I went in to settle things and get our room key while MFH waited in the car. \u00a0I took one of those wagon things with me back to the car (you know, those things with wheels that are supposed to easily roll around on the carpet and carry all your luggage to your room? \u00a0You know, the ones I cannot steer to save my life?<\/p>\n
Anyway, MFH loaded that thing and went to park the car while I made the trek to find our room with that “thing.”<\/p>\n
Found the elevator and pushed the “UP” button. \u00a0And waited.<\/p>\n
A guy showed up.<\/p>\n
A kinda strange guy.<\/p>\n
Ugh.<\/p>\n
The elevator door opened and I proceeded to shove that “thing” into the elevator. \u00a0The guy decided he would be my knight in shining armor and try to help me with the “thing.”<\/p>\n
Ugh.<\/p>\n
I pushed my floor button and he pushed his. \u00a0I was floor 8 and he was floor 7.<\/p>\n
In that short trip, I discovered that he is 50 years old (I did not ASK for any of this info, you understand! \u00a0I was just keeping my distance and watching the floors tick by). \u00a0He used to be in the military. \u00a0He had a heart attack 2 years ago even though he has never smoked a day in his life. \u00a0“How strange is that?” he asked.<\/p>\n
I assured him that was unusual.<\/p>\n
Now, He “Was serving the big man upstairs and by the way, did I know that I glow!?!”<\/p>\n
Oh man!!!!!<\/p>\n
Floor 5…come on elevator!<\/p>\n
“No! \u00a0Really! \u00a0You glow!”<\/p>\n
“Uh-huh.”<\/p>\n
Floor 6.<\/p>\n
“Are you a teacher?” He asked me.<\/p>\n
“No.” \u00a0I replied. \u00a0I wasn’t telling him a THING!<\/p>\n
“Well, you really do glow!”<\/p>\n
Floor 7!<\/p>\n
“Oh look! \u00a0It’s your floor! \u00a0Goodbye.”<\/p>\n
“Oh.” \u00a0he said. \u00a0Sadly. He stepped out of the elevator and the doors started to close. \u00a0I was just starting to breath a sigh of relief when he caught the door with his hand and those doors opened.<\/p>\n
“You really do glow! \u00a0I am serving the man upstairs.”<\/p>\n
“I am sure you are doing a great job, too. \u00a0Good evening.” and I pushed the door close button.<\/p>\n
I made it to our room and was wrestling that “thing” into the room and who should appear than MFH! \u00a0Boy, oh boy was I happy to see him! \u00a0We unloaded that “thing” and went to find dinner.<\/p>\n
Now, MFH is off to find the hotel TM and I am writing this up. \u00a0When he comes back, we will watch a Blue Bloods on Netflix and go to sleep.<\/p>\n
Back up at 3:00 am tomorrow. \u00a0Time’s a wasting!<\/p>\n
