{"id":2841,"date":"2015-01-18T14:44:05","date_gmt":"2015-01-18T20:44:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2841"},"modified":"2015-01-18T14:44:05","modified_gmt":"2015-01-18T20:44:05","slug":"1-daughter-birthdays-and-colorado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2841","title":{"rendered":"#1 Daughter, Birthday&#8217;s and Colorado"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This coming Tuesday, January 20th, #1 Daughter, My Favorite Daughter (and only daughter) will be turning 27 years old.<\/p>\n<p>I sit here at my laptop shaking my head. \u00a0Where have the years gone? \u00a0It seems just like yesterday that I took that &#8220;At Home&#8221; pregnancy test. \u00a0Those things were just coming onto the market.<\/p>\n<p>MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I had gone on a camping trip to Colorado for our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. \u00a0(We were living in Chicago at the time.) \u00a0We had bought a tent and all the goodies that went along with it and drove to Rocky Mountain National Park to camp for our Anniversary trip.<\/p>\n<p>I felt gross the entire time we were there. \u00a0I mean, I felt sick! \u00a0My &#8220;visitor&#8221; was late so I was on pins and needles all the time waiting for it to arrive (which it never did).<\/p>\n<p>We ended up leaving Colorado a little early. \u00a0It had snowed (duh~May in the Rockies&#8230;in a tent!?!) and we were cold. \u00a0We ended up driving to visit the In-Laws in Des Moines, for a few days before driving the rest of the way to Chicago. \u00a0While we were in Des Moines, I had an, &#8220;Ah-Ha!&#8221; moment and hence the purchase of one of those &#8220;new&#8221; pregnancy tests.<\/p>\n<p>The countdown was on for baby #1.<\/p>\n<p>#1 Daughter ended up arriving 10 days after her due date. \u00a0We found out the day before she was born that she would be a girl. \u00a0Up until that time, we did not know. \u00a0We were really excited!!!<\/p>\n<p>She finally arrived and she was PERFECT!!! \u00a0Still is! \u00a0She has grown into a beautiful woman. \u00a0She is confident, loyal, hard working&#8230;A top class lady. \u00a0I am proud of her AND I get to see her the end of this week!<\/p>\n<p>The stories I could tell! \u00a0 \u00a0She was going to a poetry contest in first grade. \u00a0She was going to recite &#8220;Eletelephony.&#8221; \u00a0She knew that poem backwards and forwards! \u00a0The day of the contest, she woke up with strep. \u00a0High temp&#8230;sick kid! \u00a0She couldn&#8217;t go. \u00a0She was soooo upset! \u00a0She knew (and we did, too!) that she would have won.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h1 id=\"page-title\">Eletelephony<\/h1>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>Laura Elizabeth Richards<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<pre>Once there was an elephant,\r\nWho tried to use the telephant\u2014\r\nNo!
