Probably close to 10 years ago (give or take) #1 Daughter gave me, what I call, a “Fuzzy Blanket” for Christmas. \u00a0 She had made it herself. \u00a0I treasured it for two reasons: \u00a01) \u00a0Because she had made it for me. and 2) \u00a0It is the warmest blanket I have ever owned.<\/p>\n

#1 Daughter had gone to a shop and purchased a piece of blanket fabric. \u00a0It is grayish with little blue bears on it. \u00a0Cute! \u00a0She had also purchased faux fur. \u00a0She then attached the two together to create the warmest blanket in the world! \u00a0I love it!<\/p>\n

So does Kali. \u00a0The cat.<\/p>\n

Kali has no sentimental attachment to this blanket. \u00a0She is an opportunist. \u00a0She likes it because it is warm. \u00a0Period.<\/p>\n

The cold snap that has the country in is grip has reached into Mississippi where I live. \u00a0We had had temps in the upper teens~this is very, very cold for my region of the country. \u00a0So, I had been using the blanket from #1 Daughter every night when I go to bed.<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) and I do not see eye to eye as far as what is a comfortable temp to set the house. \u00a0He has been quite comfortable during this cold snap. \u00a0I have been freezing! \u00a0I spend the day in jeans, hoodie and a quilted, cold weather jacket. \u00a0Brrr!!!<\/p>\n

Last night, I wore gloves to bed!<\/p>\n

Unreal.<\/p>\n

This takes me back to the fuzzy blanket.<\/p>\n

I spread the fuzzy blanket out on the bed around 8:00 pm. \u00a0Don’t ask me why, I just do. \u00a0Ritual. \u00a0Routine. \u00a0Whatever you want to call it.<\/p>\n

Kali has clued into this ritual.<\/p>\n

Kali has taken to sneaking into our bedroom before we go to bed and curling up on the fuzzy blanket. \u00a0When I get ready to go to bed, there she is, sound asleep. \u00a0She is all curled up on top of the fuzzy blanket. \u00a0Toasty warm.<\/p>\n

Well, that doesn’t work! \u00a0That’s My blanket on My side of the bed!<\/p>\n

We have a battle of the wills almost every night.<\/p>\n

You can hear that cat saying, “I called dibs. \u00a0You lose.”<\/p>\n

BUT~~~<\/p>\n

I am bigger than she is.<\/p>\n

I win.<\/p>\n
