{"id":2823,"date":"2015-01-10T17:00:58","date_gmt":"2015-01-10T23:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2823"},"modified":"2015-01-10T17:00:58","modified_gmt":"2015-01-10T23:00:58","slug":"personalized-training-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2823","title":{"rendered":"Personalized Training Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m just a little nervous.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow I start a training program that was designed specifically for me. \u00a0This is something different!<\/p>\n<p>Before, I have always utilized Hal Hidgon (HH) programs. \u00a0HH has successfully helped me through every. single. race, I&#8217;ve every run (except for the C25K). \u00a0I almost feel like I&#8217;m being unfaithful or something! \u00a0Guilty? \u00a0I dunno.<\/p>\n<p>I have an online friend. \u00a0He is a certified coach. \u00a0Reputable. \u00a0Very high reputation, as a matter of fact. \u00a0He came to me towards the end of last year and asked if he could help me with a program with my upcoming full marathon and 50K here in the next few months.<\/p>\n<p>I was flattered! \u00a0I mean, who, in their right mind would turn down an offer like that!?!<\/p>\n<p>He wrote me up a program. \u00a0We chatted online about my training habits and limitations&#8230;all that kind of stuff and he wrote me up an eight week program. \u00a0It starts tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>I had told him my goal time (In my wildest dreams goal time.) for a marathon and then the 50K three weeks later. \u00a0I told him that I was unsure how to maintain fitness but still taper for that 50K. \u00a0Three weeks isn&#8217;t very long but can still be an eternity in long distance running.<\/p>\n<p>Scott to the rescue!<\/p>\n<p>Not only did he write down mileage for each day, he told me how long I had to complete said mileage. \u00a0Yikes!<\/p>\n<p>I cannot just slog through my miles. \u00a0I have to pick them up and put them down for the next 8 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>More than what I bargained for?<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t think so.<\/p>\n<p>The Mississippi River Marathon \u00a0http:\/\/www.msrivermarathon.com\/\u00a0is on Valentine&#8217;s Day, February 14th. \u00a0This will be my first out of two attempts in 2015 to get make a 5:00 hr marathon or get a sub 5:00 hr marathon. \u00a0For most people, they would be mortified to admit that they ran a 5:00 hr marathon. \u00a0Me? \u00a0I&#8217;d be thrilled!!!<\/p>\n<p>My first marathon, in Oct 2013, was 5:58. \u00a0Last Oct in Chicago, I improved to a 5:19. \u00a0If I continue to train hard, I might (Might) be able to squeak out a 5:00 hr marathon. \u00a0That is a lot of improvement in not a whole lot of time.<\/p>\n<p>If I can get a sub 5:00 hr marathon, that means, I will have run a marathon pretty close to as fast as MFH (My Favorite Husband)! \u00a0That is my HUGE goal!!!<\/p>\n<p>When I started running, MFH was such an angel! \u00a0He would run super, duper slow so that we would be running the same pace. \u00a0I have been working really hard to run as fast as he does so that he doesn&#8217;t have to wait for me! \u00a0I want to make him proud.<\/p>\n<p>THAT is my goal.<\/p>\n<p>The 50K http:\/\/www.ms50.com\/\u00a0? \u00a0I just want to finish. \u00a0I&#8217;m not really concerned about time or anything. \u00a0That&#8217;s just for fun.<\/p>\n<p>My marathon goal time? \u00a0That is what I am working towards in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In about 4 weeks and I get my first shot at it! \u00a0Fingers crossed!!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m just a little nervous.
