I needed to phone SIL this morning.<\/p>\n
MIL dearly loves Lemon Meringue Pie from The Machine Shed Restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa. \u00a0I mean, she really, really loves this pie! \u00a0Seeing as I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what to get MIL for Christmas (actually, I can’t figure out what to get ANYBODY for Christmas this year) I decided to try to get her one of these pies (and a few other little things). \u00a0I knew you had to pre-order them and all, so I did that yesterday.<\/p>\n
Machine Shed does not deliver. \u00a0Hmmmm….what to do? \u00a0SIL lives in Des Moines. \u00a0Maybe she would be willing to pick it up and take it to MIL so it would be a surprise. \u00a0I knew that MIL would be more than happy to pick up her own present, but surprises are nice. \u00a0Right?<\/p>\n
I went to call SIL this morning. \u00a0There was one itty bitty problem. \u00a0I couldn’t find a phone! \u00a0We have 4 phones. \u00a0All cordless. \u00a0They all work on the same jacks spread out around the house. \u00a0Yesterday, it seems like they were all used at various times but none of them made it back to the jacks. \u00a0Boo.<\/p>\n
The jacks have a phone locator button on them. \u00a0You push the button and it chirps. \u00a0The phone give off a beep until the two meet. \u00a0It’s cacophonous to say the least.<\/p>\n
Paxton had never heard these chirps and beeps before. \u00a0We are usually pretty good about hanging up the phones so this was a rather odd occurrence at our house.<\/p>\n
8:00 am you could hear, “Chiiiuuurp! \u00a0Chiiiuuurp! Chiiiuuurp!” and then a very faint, “beeep, beeep, beeep!”<\/p>\n
MFH was walking around the house following the faint “beeeps” until he found one of the phones. \u00a0He would then bring it back to me with a look of success. \u00a0We did this until we found all four phones.<\/p>\n
While we were doing this, Paxton was getting distressed. \u00a0He started walking around in circles. \u00a0He stopped to scratch his ear…trying to make the noise stop. \u00a0More circles. \u00a0It was not helping. \u00a0At. \u00a0All.<\/p>\n
Finally, he parked himself firmly between the kitchen and living room. \u00a0He titled his puppy head back and let it rip!<\/p>\n
” \u00a0Roooorwwww! \u00a0Roooorwwww! \u00a0Roooorwwww! \u00a0Roooorwwww! \u00a0Roooorwwww! \u00a0Roooorwwww!”<\/p>\n
Oh my goodness but he was an upset puppy!<\/p>\n
We finally found all four phones and the noise stopped. \u00a0Paxton was soooo relieved!<\/p>\n
Now, Paxton is taking a well earned puppy nap. \u00a0What a start to a Thursday! \u00a0Poor Paxton!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
