Today’s Run: \u00a050 min lifting at the “Y”<\/p>\n
Today is Wednesday and that means off to the “Y” first thing in the morning. \u00a0I really enjoy going to the “Y”. \u00a0The people there are great! \u00a0There is genuine\u00a0camaraderie. \u00a0We look out for each other and help each other out.<\/p>\n
So, today I was doing my thing. \u00a0I was not maxing out on the bench press (that is a Monday thing) but just doing plain ol’ lifting. \u00a0There was a lot of encouragement from the room (I think that is because you do not often see a woman doing heavy lifting) and we were all having a good time. \u00a0I moved on from the bench press to “skull crushers”. \u00a0That is when it happened.<\/p>\n
I was loading the bar and dropped a 10 pound plate on my left foot! \u00a0OUCH!!! \u00a0Now, I want you to remember that this is the Young Men’s Christian Association~no strong language allowed or you are dismissed! \u00a0So, I sang a little song and danced a little dance and they all\u00a0commiserated\u00a0with me. \u00a0All better? \u00a0Not really.<\/p>\n
When I returned home, my husband took me to the hospital, got an x-ray on my foot (which is not broken, yeah!) and came back home. \u00a0Busy day. \u00a0So now I will gimp for a few days and get back to my regular routine of running one day and lifting the next.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
