That Paxton. \u00a0He is such a dog. \u00a0He is the doggiest of all dogs. \u00a0No doubt about it.<\/p>\n

Paxton will be 5 years old March 2015. \u00a0He is starting to get a little gray around his muzzle and his steps have slowed some. \u00a0He still likes to help me sweep the floors but doesn’t try to help me sweep things into the dust pan. \u00a0He’s usually too tired by them.<\/p>\n

When Paxton was a puppy, he was ENERGY! \u00a0Oh My Goodness!!! \u00a0We \u00a0used to pray for the day when we would act like a regular dog and lay around most of the day.<\/p>\n

Those days are here.<\/p>\n

It’s nice, in a way, to not be having to constantly be entertaining the dog because he wants to play all. the. time. but in another way, I really miss it.<\/p>\n

Paxton has enough personality in just himself for at least a dozen other dogs. \u00a0He is personality +++++<\/p>\n

What a dog!<\/p>\n

MFH (My Favorite Husband) makes fun of Paxton. \u00a0He is always saying things like, “I’m really sorry you’re so ugly.” and “I’m really sorry you caught that parked truck.”<\/p>\n

He mocks Paxton’s cute smushed nose and stump of a tail. \u00a0I think Paxton is the best. dog. ever.<\/p>\n

What a dog!<\/p>\n

So, what brought about this nostalgia?<\/p>\n

Well, if you recall, this past week was MFH’s birthday. \u00a0#1 Son had brought over T-Bone steak for MFH’s birthday present. \u00a0Nice Present! \u00a0We saved the steak until the cold snap passed and we could grill. \u00a0Today was THE day. \u00a0MFH grilled the steak.<\/p>\n

Perfect!<\/p>\n

(We never, ever buy steak. \u00a0Cost prohibitive.)<\/p>\n

Somehow, Paxton knew, I mean he KNEW what was on that plate. \u00a0How do dogs do that!?!<\/p>\n

We ate. \u00a0Paxton was sitting. \u00a0Watching intently. \u00a0Drooling on the kitchen floor (I kid you not, there was a puddle on the floor!).<\/p>\n

MFH made a major production of really cleaning off the bone. \u00a0The dog was about ready to explode! \u00a0Paxton was quivering he was so excited.<\/p>\n

MFH was saying to the dog, “What make you think you are getting any of this?” \u00a0But Paxton knew.<\/p>\n

Paxton was ready. \u00a0He waited patiently.<\/p>\n

Finally, MFH was done with the steak. \u00a0Paxton went into his routine to get his treat. \u00a0Shake, bow down and look as pitiful as possible. \u00a0What a lucky puppy! \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
