{"id":2734,"date":"2014-11-14T13:20:43","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T19:20:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2734"},"modified":"2014-11-14T13:20:43","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T19:20:43","slug":"paxtons-toys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/w0ep.us\/TM\/?p=2734","title":{"rendered":"Paxton&#8217;s Toys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The cold weather has arrived here in Mississippi. \u00a0This is bringing about abrupt changes in the behavior of our animals.<\/p>\n<p>Paxton, my pudgy pooch, prefers to stay indoors most of the time. \u00a0Usually it is just too doggone hot for him outdoors. \u00a0He does not deal with warm weather all that well. \u00a0Actually, he does not do well with super cold weather either. \u00a0He is a fair weathered &#8220;man&#8217;s best friend.&#8221; \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n<p>This stuff we&#8217;ve been having mid-day, in the 40&#8217;s, he really, really likes that.<\/p>\n<p>Usually, he goes out, does his business and charges right back into the house. \u00a0Get &#8216;er done.<\/p>\n<p>Now, with the nice mid-day temps, he will sit in the grass for a while and enjoy the weather. \u00a0He is also a lot more playful than he is during the warmer time of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The two cats, Kali and Castro, are taking to staying in the house at night. \u00a0This is disconcerting to MFH (My Favorite Husband).<\/p>\n<p>The last couple of nights, it has been in the low 20&#8217;s. \u00a0Too cold for kitty cats. \u00a0They come in around 7:00 PM and stay in most of the night. \u00a0They will eat late afternoon and go out and do whatever it is that cats do and then come back in right before we go to sleep.<\/p>\n<p>Around 3:00(ish) they then decide that they NEED to go back out and wake up MFH to be let out. \u00a0Still haven&#8217;t figured out why they don&#8217;t wake me up for that. \u00a0No complaints!<\/p>\n<p>The thing that has been funny has been with the cats. \u00a0They sleep most of the afternoon. \u00a0See&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Kali will sleep on a fuzzy blanket. \u00a0I do not keep this blanket on the bed. \u00a0It is kind of a throw blanket so I fold it in the morning and put it on the floor for her to sleep on. \u00a0I do this because Castro likes to sleep on the bed by our pillows. \u00a0If they both try to be on the bed at the same time, we have a cat fight.<\/p>\n<p>I wish those two would try to get along!<\/p>\n<p>*Funny story*<\/p>\n<p>This morning, I was getting ready to run the sweeper. \u00a0I had to pick up Paxton&#8217;s toys. \u00a0He had spread stuff all over the place and it all needed to be put away. \u00a0He had toys all over the floor and the sofa, too. \u00a0(He will put his teddy bear and other favorite toys on the sofa. \u00a0They deserve special treatment, don&#8217;t you know.)<\/p>\n<p>So, I&#8217;m picking up all of this stuff and putting it in his toy box, not really paying attention&#8230;just getting the job done. \u00a0I grabbed the next thing on the sofa. \u00a0It objected!<\/p>\n<p>I thought, &#8220;What!?!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It was Castro. \u00a0HA!<\/p>\n<p>I had just grabbed that cat, not very nicely, either! \u00a0I thought he was another one of Paxton&#8217;s toys.<\/p>\n<p>Oops!<\/p>\n<p>Poor cat.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s going to be a long winter. \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The cold weather has arrived here in Mississippi. \u00a0This is bringing about abrupt changes in the behavior of our animals.
