I’m really at a loss as to what to write about…<\/p>\n
See, I really don’t want to some across as a whiner. \u00a0Can’t stand it when other people do that. \u00a0I feel like, “Yup, we know you are unable to do what you would like to do. \u00a0Give it a rest, okay?” \u00a0Compassion is not my strong point.<\/p>\n
This past year has been a dreadful year for training. \u00a0It really, really has.<\/p>\n
I had that stress fracture over the winter. \u00a0I ended up with a concussion right after my Ultra. \u00a0Now, I have a messed up foot.<\/p>\n
All in one calendar year!<\/p>\n
Maybe I’m just getting all of this injury stuff over and done with in one year. \u00a0That’s got to be it!<\/p>\n
“Yea, yea. \u00a0That’s the ticket!”<\/p>\n
Today, I am on day 2 of wearing this boot. \u00a0The Dr. told me that my foot wouldn’t hurt as long as I wore the boot. \u00a0He lied.<\/p>\n
My foot still hurts. \u00a0Advil is my friend. \u00a0(I will mention here, that the Dr. offered me pain medication. \u00a0I turned him down.)<\/p>\n
So, I am sitting. \u00a0That’s right. \u00a0Sitting. \u00a0I figure the less I move around, the easier it will be on my foot and it will heal quicker. \u00a0Right!?!<\/p>\n
I am a terribly impatient person.<\/p>\n
However, I am a highly motivated person, too!<\/p>\n
I have a Marathon on Valentine’s Day and an Ultra three weeks later. \u00a0That does NOT leave me a lot of time to be sitting on my patoot if I’m going to be ready for these races.<\/p>\n
