The training, except for the little taper runs, is done.<\/p>\n

What a strange period this has been, training for Chicago. \u00a0Very strange, indeed. \u00a0But, what could have been done, is now complete. \u00a0Time now for a little bit of resting and waiting.<\/p>\n

One week from today, I will be traveling to Chicago.<\/p>\n

Thursday, Paxton, Castro and Kali will go to stay at Reggie’s House while we are gone. \u00a0Reggie has a reputable boarding place for animals in our area. \u00a0Pet owners love him and so do the animals. \u00a0Quality place, there.<\/p>\n

So, aside from a few minor errands, I’m ready.<\/p>\n

The only variable left that is totally out of my control is the weather. \u00a0I have had bad dreams about the race, you already know this. \u00a0But I have been very concerned about the weather.<\/p>\n

I have decided not to carry anything with me during the race.<\/p>\n

When I did the Ultra in July, we were required to carry a water bottle. \u00a0I ended up training all Summer carrying that water bottle. \u00a0Lately, I have had to NOT carry the water bottle. \u00a0I needed to get used to running “Naked.” as it were.<\/p>\n

It felt very strange at first, but now, I rather like it! \u00a0I’m not having to compensate for the additional weight of my 22 oz water bottle. \u00a0I (sometimes) feel like I’m floating from not having to carry that extra weight.<\/p>\n

A person could get used to this!<\/p>\n

Back to the weather, though.<\/p>\n

I have been checking the long range weather forecast for about a month now. \u00a0I know…I’m pathetic. \u00a0Finally, I have one that is still long range but hopefully, kind of accurate?<\/p>\n

Fingers crossed!<\/p>\n
