What’s in a name?<\/p>\n

We are known by our names before we are really known. \u00a0When we introduce ourselves, we generally extend our hand look a person in the eye and say, “Hi! \u00a0I’m _____.” \u00a0 The other person generally replies in like manner, shaking your hand and giving their name as well.<\/p>\n

Usually, you immediately forget that new person’s name. \u00a0You have, however, made an impression on them in one way or another.<\/p>\n

Most people, when they hear my name, well, their eyes glaze over because I have a stuffy name. \u00a0It makes me easier to forget.<\/p>\n

The things about me that do stand out, however, is my height (or lack thereof) and my ability to talk and talk and talk.<\/p>\n

Today, I have been out talked. \u00a0Hard to believe but true.<\/p>\n

We are going to back in time about a month.<\/p>\n

Remember I told you have Rover (my hen) had hatched some babies? \u00a0All of them except for one died. \u00a0This one remaining chick, I believe, is a girl.<\/p>\n

She is a talker!<\/p>\n

Holy Cow! \u00a0I have been around chickens for some time now and I have never heard a chicken carry on as much as this one!<\/p>\n

“Peep! \u00a0Peep! \u00a0Peep! \u00a0Peep!” \u00a0It is unending and exhausting. \u00a0But kinda of fun, too. \u00a0 \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

What I have discovered by trail and error is that she likes company. \u00a0She is a clingy little thing and likes to be held. \u00a0All. Day. Long.<\/p>\n

When you hold her, she is quiet. \u00a0She is content.<\/p>\n

When you put her back in her little cage, she complains vociferously!<\/p>\n

So, for most of today, I have walked around with a baby chicken on my shoulder. \u00a0That is where she wants to be.<\/p>\n

She rides around content. \u00a0She pecks at my freckles and earrings. \u00a0She thinks she is pretty hot stuff.<\/p>\n

Today, I finally decided on her name, too. \u00a0I think it is rather fitting and I think it is a name that won’t need to be repeated to people often. \u00a0Cathy. \u00a0Chatty Cathy.<\/p>\n
